We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Head of GFC Advisory for Private Wealth Management (PWM) Asia, who will have overall responsibility for the execution and maintenance of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention and detection program.
In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Executive Director level position within the Global Financial Crimes (GFC) team which coordinates the design and implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention program. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity.

What you'll do in the role:
Oversee the design, implementation and execution of the GFC program for PWM Asia.
Provide advice to internal stakeholders.
Monitor and control adherence to policies and regulatory rules via ongoing controls.
Assess the output of financial crimes related alerts from various screening and monitoring tools.
Prepare and present management information to senior management as appropriate.
Maintain relationships with regulators and industry working groups.
Manage internal and external audits as well as regulatory examinations.
Participate in client selection committees and new product approval processes.
Respond to regulatory inquiries.
Escalate material issues and incidents to the Head of APAC GFC.
Lead a team of GFC professionals based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Develop and deliver financial crimes-related training.
Monitor regulatory developments and support implementation of new rules and requirements.
Keep financial crimes related policies and procedures up to date.
What you'll bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, audit or other control function in the financial services industry.
Financial crimes compliance experience and knowledge of local AML rules and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across the Legal and Compliance Division, other Infrastructure, Risk Management and Control Functions (e.g. Operations).
Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information.
Strong people management skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills in English; fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus.
Strong analytical mindset, critical reasoning skills and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment and successfully meet agreed deadlines.
Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license or certification within first 15 months of employment.
