What You’ll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and top-ranked research to corporate, government, institutional and retail clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally. CIBC Capital Markets consists of three lines of business; Global Markets, Global Investment Banking and Corporate Banking.
CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.

As an Executive Director on the Alternate Solutions Group, you will primarily be responsible for leading the growth of the Global Payment Services product. We are looking for high-energy individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, who are focused on the challenge of building the bank of the future. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, driven, client-focused team. Your mandate is to drive profitable growth to support ASG’s vision by setting the product growth strategy which aligns to ASG’s overall strategy, executing to meet ASG’s growth targets, and managing the day-to-day business activities. This role includes leading individuals to develop and optimize new processes with clients, identify new cost savings and efficiencies, identify new revenue streams with existing clients, and drive profitable revenue growth by deepening client relationships to reach target markets. The role also requires a strong internal partnership with product development team to ensure solutions meet client needs, are leveraged by all clients, and drive revenue growth.

How You’ll Succeed

Product Growth: You will develop and articulate a clear roadmap to deepen client relationships to drive value for clients and for ASG aligned to ASG’s business strategies and plans to enable ASG to deliver on its mandate, goals and objectives.

Drive Results: You will be responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual operational revenue targets. It will be your duty to identify service level adherence metrics, conduct analysis reporting, and track adherence with teams. You’ll complete integrated business planning with internal partners. By utilizing market research (data, trends, insights), user feedback, and business goals, you’ll develop and refine a strategic vision that clearly articulates the benefits from client, business, and economic perspectives. You will ensure that all regulatory, business, and financial reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.

Innovation: You will drive initiatives from end-to-end, including ideation, market research, communication, client engagement, collaboration, and post-launch success with stakeholders and clients. You’ll identify opportunities to drive growth through existing and new strategic partnerships and pinpoint new areas for enhancing operational efficiencies and advancing the ASG business priorities. You’ll develop strategic roadmaps to execute those opportunities.

Strategic Focus: You will develop efficiencies within processes across operational teams. You will identify technical tools to enhance efficiencies and ensure market parity, focusing on client relationships, optimizing client value, production optimization, and continuous improvement.

Relationship Management: You will establish effective strategies to deepen relationships with clients and internal partners while increasing revenue and reducing operational costs. Utilizing your strong relationship-building skills, you’ll create processes to institutionalize clients, successfully driving product engagement, usage, and revenue. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop detailed business cases that outline project objectives, milestones, resource requirements, and associated cost-benefit analyses. You will foster a collegial, inclusive, and team-oriented culture, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence and client success.
Who You Are

You have an undergraduate university degree in Business, Industry & Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM.

You have 15+ years in a client management, FinTech, payments, or Capital Markets role.

You have demonstrated strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry / regulatory environment to interpret and analyze complex issues, as well as identify and develop innovative opportunities. You have knowledge of client management globally and processes currently used within retail banks and large financial institutions as they relate to payments and foreign exchange. You bring strong awareness of FinTech industry and disruptive technologies revolutionizing traditional banking products and services.
