Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a hybrid leader: part growth driver, part senior client partner, and part capability builder. As a key member of the West Coast Senior Leadership Team, your immediate priority will be managing our critical West Coast clients, leading the entertainment team, and being actively involved in pitching and winning new business to drive the growth of the office.
Beyond running this high-profile portfolio, this executive will act as a "founder" within the organization, fully empowered to build a net-new entertainment and innovation business inside Horizon. Above all, you will ensure we are consistently positioned to clients as an indispensable growth partner rather than a traditional media agency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Client, Team & New Business Leadership
Senior Strategic Lead: Serve as the senior-most strategic lead across critical, high-value accounts (including major studio/streamer clients), elevating relationships from transactional media buying to strategic business partnerships.
Team Empowerment: Lead the entertainment team and large cross-functional groups with a relentless focus on getting the most out of people. Identify strengths, align disparate teams, and inspire action toward a shared vision.
Pitching & Winning: Be actively involved in originating opportunities, leading high-stakes pitches, and winning new business to directly drive the growth of the West Coast office.
Strategic Rigor: Use a deep understanding of media planning and strategy to coach the team, evaluate the work, and push back when necessary, ensuring the final output is flawlessly executed and strategically bulletproof.
Innovation & Capability Building
Operating with a founder’s mindset, this executive will lead the commercialization of three priority innovation areas to create scalable, repeatable products:
Branded Content & Integrations: Build a scalable capability that seamlessly embeds brands into film, streaming, and premium entertainment platforms.
Entertainment Development & Financing: Establish an investment and development model to fund or co-fund content, securing media value, inventory, and IP ownership opportunities tied to client investment.
Proprietary Entertainment Technology (OS Labs): Partner with OS Labs to develop and commercialize proprietary data, measurement, and tech-enabled entertainment products for clients and internal teams.
Business Strategy & Operations
Holistic Business Lens: Approach client challenges from a broader business perspective, leveraging AI and tech-driven thinking to create forward-looking solutions.
Operational Excellence: Oversee portfolio performance, team structure, and delivery. Ensure profitability, scalability, and operational rigor across all client and innovation initiatives.
Who You Are
Driver & Team Motivator: A relentless driver who excels at leading large groups and knows how to truly motivate and get the best out of their people.
Deep Strategic & Planning Chops: You don't just sell; you understand the engine. You have a profound grasp of media strategy and planning to actively guide the work.
Tech & Product Forward: Brings strong product experience and AI/Tech-driven thinking to build modern, scalable solutions rather than one-off executions.
New Business Engine: A proven track record of originating, participating in, and winning new business, backed by a strong understanding of performance and analytics.
The Builder Mindset: A true self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, operates with autonomy, and acts like an owner of the business.
Entertainment Insider: Deep roots and relationships across studios, streamers, and production companies to open doors and structure meaningful partnerships.
Preferred Skills & Experience
We are looking for an entrepreneurial mindset over a traditional resume. The ideal candidate likely comes from one of two backgrounds:
The Agency Lead: Someone who has run a massive studio or streamer piece of business at an agency. They know the entertainment landscape inside out, they understand the nuts and bolts of strategy/planning, and they know how to lead large teams—but they want to move beyond traditional media to build and own a holistic product/growth offering.
The Sales/Org Leader: A senior sales or revenue executive who has actually led a broader organization or division. They aren't just an individual contributor; they have managed large teams, know how to get the best out of their people, and can bridge content, media, and technology to drive enterprise-level growth.
