Job Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that Charter's LOA programs are in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards and requirements. Responsible for analyzing and resolving complex leave of absence issues. Lead the review, approval, and timely submission of required documents and responses for annual internal audits, as it relates to LOA. Proactively identify new and revised regulatory standards and requirements, train team members and HR on the implications of those changes and partner with the leaves and disability vendor on the implementation of those changes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Research and analysis of complex LOA scenarios
Perform on-going monitoring of Leave and Disability vendor and develop internal audit tool to track performance results on a quarterly basis
Implement changes to meet regulatory standards Identify LOA training opportunities; support the development of training materials; deliver or facilitate training delivery, as needed
Support annual plan compliance reviews to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
Research and provide informed interpretation on areas of ambiguity within the programs or the regulations in partnership with Charter Legal and Benefits
Communicate clear, concise summaries of complex cases, issues and recommendations to leadership as required Stay abreast of industry regulatory environment changes and train internal ESC-Leaves team as needed
Partner with HR to provide consultative compliance support on complex LOA situations Ensure all LOA documentation and administration is being carried out with the proper level of consistency and governance
Review required LOA communication materials on an on-going basis and make recommendations
Consistently support compliance by maintaining confidentiality of information, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
Responsible for updating procedures, workflows, metrics and participation in system enhancements as applicable Perform other related duties, as needed

Knowledge and understanding of FMLA, ADAAA, USERRA, ERISA and appropriate benefits related regulations
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
5+ LOA and/or benefit compliance experience in a large, complex organization
Working Conditions
Office environment; combination of in office/work from home rotation available
