RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and training tailored to a high-volume food ecommerce environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, FDA requirements, Non-GMO/Organic standards, and all applicable laws.
- Serve as the lead facilitator for the Safety Committee program, ensuring standardized structure, representation across functions/shifts, and alignment with our EHS strategy.
- Prepare and distribute monthly Safety Committee agendas, minutes, and action trackers; oversee Gemba walks, trend analyses, and inspections.
- Drive accountability by ensuring timely closure of action items, clear reporting, and committee-led employee engagement activities.
- Build and sustain partnerships with regulatory agencies, local health departments, and emergency responders, seeking win-win solutions that balance compliance, operational efficiency, and safety outcomes.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and preventative action planning.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, site safety stand-downs, and refresher training.
- Coach leaders and committee members to serve as visible role models, promoting a culture of accountability and recognition.
- Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, audits, corrective actions, training completion) and present insights to leadership.
- Conduct regulatory OSHA standard inspections and assessments
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month).
- 5–7 years of progressive EHS experience in distribution, fulfillment, food, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience working directly with FDA, USDA, and other food-related regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of organic and Non-GMO compliance standards (preferred).Demonstrated success leading Safety Committee programs or equivalent employee led safety initiatives.
- Proven ability to partner with local health authorities and emergency response teams.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to engage both hourly employees and senior leaders.
- Must reside or be willing to relocate within a 45-minute drive of Batesville, IN to ensure site coverage and responsiveness.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL EXPECTATIONS
- Regularly engaged on the FC floor; ability to be on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable lifting typical industry-standard weight levels (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in and move between temperature-controlled zones (ambient, refrigerated, frozen).

JOB INFORMATION
- Compensation Description - The salary range for this position is up to $50K - $65K.
- Rate of pay may increase over time based upon: skill, level of responsibility, additional duties, seniority, quantity or quality of production or other legitimate, business-related factors.
