As Environment and Resource Efficient Operations Manager / SuM Env & REO Lead you will be responsible for execution of the function as it relates to:
- Before Start-up : ensuring all operational practices are developed and implemented prior to Plant start up. in general, the idea is that everything that will be required after the start-up is properly prepared and implemented before the start-up without requiring additional effort during regular production.
- After Start-up : ensuring that the site complies with the environmental standards in force locally and at McCain. You will be the key point of contact for the Environmental regulators. You will build and deploy the site's environmental roadmap. You will manage plant waste and water treatment.
You will report directly to Plant Manager / SuM Manager and functionally to Envt & REO Manager CE. You will be a member of Plant Leadership Team and will work in close collaboration with SuM Team, Engineering Team, Regional and Global Support Team.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to project teams regarding design, specifications, equipment selection, management systems requirements (ISO)
- Ensure execution of Readiness Checklist containing a very detailed list of activities leading to the creation of a similar system as in other McCain plants. All activities described below in section "After Start-up" are included in the checklist to be designed
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project management, operations, procurement, and external vendors
- Participate in Basic and Detailed Design reviews as well as URS, P&ID, FDS, 3D model reviews with project and contractors teams to ensure optimal design from point of Environment, Sustainability and Resources Efficiency and in relation to Safety, Ergonomics, Food Safety, Maintenance, communication, material and waste flow, required tasks and other activities
- Ensure all personnel are engaged, their input, ideas and changes relayed back to the Start-up Team
- Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and best practices
- Conduct inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and Environmental requirements at any stage: basic and detailed engineering, FAT&Simulations, CQV and processing French Fries
- Ensure alignment with Global and Regional Sustainability strategy
- Coordinate Independent Sustainability Culture introduction
- Be active in environmental incident prevention and risk management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, systems, and technologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability and build "Plant of the Future"
- Provide training and mentorship to team members and project stakeholders to enhance technical capabilities and ensure alignment with company standards and best practices
- Build the organization (including optimization of staffing model and MDIxAI) and manage the organization according to McCain Standard Model
What you'll need to be successful
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Engineering background
- Experience in wastewater treatment plant management and environmental management
- Project management skills
- Good communicator
- Good command in German and English language is required
