The Site CAPEX Controller is responsible for the financial oversight and management of capital expenditure (CAPEX) of the Greenfield Project within the organization. This role ensures that all capital investments are planned, monitored, and reported in accordance with company policies, regulatory standards, and project objectives. The Site CAPEX Controller works closely with project managers, finance teams, and senior leadership to provide accurate financial data, control costs, and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and update CAPEX budgets and forecasts for ongoing and planned projects.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on capital expenditure, project progress, and variance analysis for management and stakeholders.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project-related costs, ensuring expenditure remains within approved budgets. Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
- Investment Appraisal: Support the evaluation of capital investment proposals, including financial modeling, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and risk assessment.
- Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to CAPEX management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with project managers, procurement, engineering, and other departments to gather financial data and provide guidance on CAPEX processes.
- Audit & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CAPEX transactions and support internal and external audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve CAPEX tracking, reporting, and control processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CIMA, CPA) is an advantage.
- Proven experience in Germany (typically 3+ years) in financial controlling, project accounting, or a related field, preferably within a capital-intensive industry (e.g., energy, manufacturing, construction).
- Strong understanding of CAPEX processes, financial analysis, and project cost control.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages such as French, or Dutch is a plus.
