Turning engagement into revenue
The Role
Description

Fluent is reshaping how retailers and DTC brands monetize the post-purchase experience. As Enterprise Sales Director, you’ll be responsible for acquiring and launching new mid-market merchants—those with strong transactional volume and a growth mindset.

Your core mission: drive new merchant adoption of Fluent’s post-transaction monetization platform, helping brands unlock incremental profit and elevate their checkout experience through curated, high intent offers from premium advertisers.

This role is ideal for a performance-minded seller with experience in eCommerce, retail tech, or digital media - and a passion for helping online brands grow.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle for mid-market DTC and online retail brands (typically $25M-$500M in GMV), from outreach and discovery to contract execution and onboarding.
  • Prospect, qualify, and prioritize accounts that align with Fluent’s commerce media solution - leveraging tools like LinkedIn, HubSpot, and Apollo.
  • Position Fluent’s post-transaction product as a net-new revenue stream that delivers real profit per order with no impact to conversion or customer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers (often Heads of Marketing, Growth, or eCommerce) and speak confidently to both performance and user experience KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure seamless launches and early wins.
  • Maintain a detailed pipeline, forecast accurately, and contribute to sales strategy, messaging, and product feedback loops.
  • Help shape Fluent’s go-to-market approach in fast-growing verticals (e.g., apparel, beauty, home goods, health & wellness).
Requirements
  • 5–8 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in digital media, AdTech, MarTech, or eCommerce enablement (Shopify experience a plus)
  • Track record of success closing deals with mid-market brands - comfortable driving 6-figure contracts
  • Deep understanding of the online retail ecosystem, including the challenges DTC brands face around monetization, margin, and performance
  • Comfortable selling to Heads of Marketing, eCommerce, Growth, or RevOps and building consultative, value-based proposals
  • Self-starter with strong discovery, presentation, and closing skills
  • Familiarity with CRM (Hubspot), sales enablement tools, and data-driven selling
  • Passion for retail innovation, digital commerce, and monetization strategies
