As an Enterprise Account Executive covering State & Local Government at Databricks, you will carry a dual mandate: grow and protect a large high consumption install account while simultaneously building new business and acquiring net new logos across the territory. This position requires someone who can operate with equal discipline in two fundamentally different motions and manage their time with intention.
The account management side of this role demands deep domain fluency and multi-stakeholder orchestration within a complex, high-value customer. The new business side demands prospecting rigor, pipeline generation and the ability to open doors in agencies where Databricks has no existing footprint. The ideal candidate is a strategic sales professional with years of experience selling to State and Local government accounts. You know how to sell innovation and change through customer vision expansion and can guide deals forward to compress decision cycles. You love understanding a product in depth and are passionate about communicating its value to Customers and System Integrators.

The impact you will have:
- Manage complex sales cycles and present to C-level executives.
- Exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue targets
- Track all customer details including use case, purchase time frames, next steps, and forecasting in Salesforce
- Use a solution-based approach to selling and creating value for your customer
- Promote Databricks' enterprise cloud data platform powered by Apache Spark™
- Ensure 100% satisfaction among your existing customer base
- Prioritize strategic opportunities and apply appropriate resources
What we look for:
- You have previously worked in an early-stage company, and you know how to navigate and be successful
- Field sales experience within big data, Cloud, or SaaS sales
- Experience managing large, complex State and Local accounts is preferred.
- Prior customer relationships in the region
- Strong executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with Commissioners, Secretary’s, CFO’s, CIOs and Program Leaders.
- 7+ years experience exceeding sales quotas
- Success closing new accounts while working existing accounts
- Understanding of Spark and big data preferable
- Passion for cloud technologies
- Bachelor's Degree

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
