Summary of the role:
Front Offices team is looking for a software development manager who will be responsible for delivery excellence, new project initiatives that will be taken up in the area of the following products Selling Platform Connect, Open Profile Suite. The ideal candidate would have strong product development expertise in leading teams in the delivery of product releases.
The job involves a mix of team management, project management skills, and direct technical initiatives involving software development, architecture design etc.
The person should have played/worked in global companies with the ability to own and drive initiatives that span across different office locations.
The candidate should have had exposure to latest development tools and practices and should continuously work in adopting those practices in Amadeus so that the productivity of the developers is enhanced.
Your main responsibilities:
- You are responsible for architecture and design evolutions in Front Offices products (Sell Connect)
- You will get opportunity to work with engineering team of Developers, QA, BA. Product tech stack is Java & UI, Microservices, Micro frontends.
- In your role, you will be instrumental in building good relationships with all stakeholders in Bangalore and across all locations
- Your contribution on process improvements to drive efficiency and quality of the releases will be highly appreciated
- Have good problem-solving skills and dealing with risks and dependencies in a structured approach
- You will also be closely interacting with onshore (France) counterpart and other teams to ensure business commitments are delivered with no gaps left.
- Providing technical support to the team members and being autonomous in decision making
- You will be a focal point for Delivery of all projects in your area of responsibility
About the ideal candidate
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in product development; minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role. Should have experience / interacted with global counterparts
- Good experience in software development / delivery; leading development teams
- Good technical knowledge in enterprise Java related technologies (Java, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ Angular, Bootstrap, Spring, Jenkins, RDBMs)
- Exposure to Big Data technologies –Kafka, Apache Spark, NoSQL
- Experience in applying design patterns, data structures, algorithms
- Experience working on full stack end-to-end products (all tiers)
- Good team management skills; should have experience in mentoring team on technical topics
- Worked in a product development building enterprise scale web application on the cloud
- Experience in Unix / Windows systems
- Experience in CI / CD; exposure to Dockers / Kubernetes / Chef would be good
- Good experience working in a dynamic environment using Agile processes (Scrum, SAFe)
- Weekly reports on status of the items worked
- Proposals, implementations of best processes and standard practices within the team
