POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Coordinator supports the efficient operation of the Engineering Department by coordinating maintenance activities, departmental communications, contractor services, and administrative functions. This role serves as the central point of contact between Engineering and other hotel departments, ensuring timely response to maintenance requests, effective scheduling of repair works, compliance with safety and operational standards, and accurate documentation of engineering activities. The Engineering Coordinator assists in maintaining hotel facilities, supporting guest satisfaction, protecting company assets, and ensuring departmental objectives are achieved through effective planning, communication, and coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate Engineering Operations by managing departmental communications, maintenance requests, and ensuring timely follow-up on all engineering activities.
- Support Maintenance Planning and Execution through scheduling, monitoring, and tracking preventive and corrective maintenance activities using the CMMS.
- Manage Contractor Activities including coordination, documentation, compliance monitoring, and post-work inspections to ensure quality and asset protection.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards by maintaining adherence to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), hotel policies, statutory requirements, and environmental practices.
- Maintain Operational Records and Asset Control including key management, maintenance documentation, inventory monitoring, and stock requisitions.
- Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders such as Housekeeping, Operations, and the Engineering leadership team to prioritize maintenance needs, resolve issues promptly, and support emergency response procedures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a maintenance, engineering coordination, or facilities management role, preferably within hospitality, commercial, or industrial environments.
- Sound knowledge of PNG Workplace Health & Safety requirements and asset maintenance practices.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and manage contractor documentation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workloads, and respond effectively during emergencies.
