What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining key client systems for the Unity game. You will support engineers working across gameplay, live events, UI, monetization, platform integrations, and client infrastructure, while ensuring strong execution, healthy team dynamics, and sustainable engineering practices in a live-service mobile game environment. This role is ideal for a leader who can combine delivery ownership, people management, and technical partnership in a complex production codebase.
- Lead and support a team of engineers building and maintaining player-facing client systems in a large Unity/C# mobile game codebase.
- Drive execution across feature development, live-ops support, bug fixing, technical improvements, and release readiness.
- Partner with product, design, QA, analytics, art, and technical leadership to plan work, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Work closely with senior engineers and technical leads to shape implementation plans, reduce risk, and improve system maintainability.
- Help the team navigate the challenges of a live-service environment, including operational deadlines, cross-team dependencies, and production issues.
- Coach and develop engineers through feedback, career growth, performance management, and day-to-day support.
- Improve team health and effectiveness through better planning, estimation, communication, development processes, and engineering standards.
- Support incident response, production issue triage, and continuous improvement across quality, stability, and delivery practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience Technical Skills
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years of people management or technical team leadership experience
- Experience working on Unity-based products, game clients, or other complex interactive applications is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, client architecture, and large-scale production development practices
- Ability to partner effectively with senior engineers on system design, technical tradeoffs, and execution planning
- Experience leading teams that ship features in live-service, mobile, or operationally complex product environments
- Familiarity with performance, quality, testing, build/release processes, and production stability concerns
- Comfortable working with multi-system feature delivery involving gameplay, UI, platform services, monetization, and live content
- Technical credibility to guide discussions, unblock engineers, and make sound prioritization decisions without needing to be the primary implementer
- Cross-Functional and Domain Knowledge
- Experience supporting live-service development, roadmap planning, and event-driven delivery cycles
- Understanding of game feature development such as progression, economy, monetization, social systems, live events, or PvP is a plus
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to align teams around scope, priorities, and outcomes
- Able to balance short-term delivery pressure with long-term technical health and team sustainability
