The Role
Analyzes semiconductor manufacturing costs, production data, workflows, yields, productivity, and operational performance. Develops package-level costing models, identifies cost drivers, and leads cost-reduction and continuous-improvement initiatives. Performs ROI and cost-benefit analyses, tracks project savings, prepares dashboards and management reports, and collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, purchasing, planning, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Analysis & Data Analytics

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct labor, indirect labor, utilities, maintenance, materials, and factory overhead expenses.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret production, costing, and operational data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain package-level cost models and cost-per-unit calculations for semiconductor products.
  • Identify key cost drivers and recommend practical solutions to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities through data-driven analysis.
     

Manufacturing Process Analysis

  • Develop a strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, particularly SOT, SOD, QFN, and NQFN packages.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows, cycle times, yields, and productivity metrics to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Lead process mapping and workflow documentation activities to improve operational visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and productivity enhancement programs.
  • Evaluate process performance using statistical and analytical methods to support operational excellence.
     

Cost Reduction & Productivity Improvement Projects

  • Lead and support cost reduction initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, labor productivity, material utilization, and factory overhead optimization.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses for process improvement, automation, and capital investment projects.
  • Develop implementation plans, track project deliverables, and monitor realized savings against targets.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for waste reduction, productivity improvement, and manufacturing cost optimization.
  • Present project findings, recommendations, and savings achievements to management and stakeholders.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Finance teams to drive business and operational objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather data, align improvement priorities, and execute cost optimization initiatives.
  • Facilitate discussions and workshops related to manufacturing efficiency, cost competitiveness, and operational performance.
  • Provide analytical support for decision-making and strategic improvement projects.
     

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and present regular reports, dashboards, business reviews, and management presentations related to manufacturing costs and project performance.
  • Maintain costing databases, financial models, and project documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing cost, productivity, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting systems and analytical tools.
     
Key Skills & CompetenciesTechnical & Analytical
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, industrial engineering principles, and cost analysis methodologies.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing costs, productivity metrics, and operational performance data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools is highly preferred.
  • Ability to develop costing models, perform financial analysis, and identify improvement opportunities through data analytics.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes is an added advantage.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related disciplines).
  • 2-4 years of working experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Cost Engineering, Process Improvement, Operations Excellence, or related fields.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments; semiconductor industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, cost reduction initiatives, productivity improvement, or operational excellence projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, or equivalent is an advantage.
