POSITION: ENGINEER I
DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER
SUMMARY:
To properly repair and maintain the physical asset and provide general support for team workers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in one (1) of the categories listed below in the Attachment ‘A’ plus general knowledge of one (1) other category.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities and special projects.
- Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
- Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
- Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements.
- Ensure security of any assigned keys and beeper.
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow-up with Chief Engineer.
- Assist with any special projects assigned.
- Other duties assigned
Skills Required
- Proficiency in one trade category listed in Attachment A plus general knowledge of another category
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, reach, and use hands for manual tasks
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision
- Ability to work in environments with wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, chemicals, and extreme temperatures
- Experience handling chemicals according to hotel requirements
- Familiarity and safe use of hand tools, power tools, motorized vehicles, and specialized trade equipment; use of PPE
- Maintain security of assigned keys and beeper; complete required paperwork and follow hotel policies
