Job Summary
The Senior DevOps Engineer 4 is responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure for a large-scale FAST video streaming platform. This role leads complex DevOps initiatives across GCP, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, observability, security, and production operations. The engineer partners closely with backend, video, QA, security, and client engineering teams to enable safe releases, stable environments, and highly available customer-facing services. This role also provides technical leadership, mentors other DevOps engineers, and helps define standards and best practices across teams.

Skills and Experience • 7-10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure • Strong hands-on experience with GCP, GKE, Cloud SQL, Firestore, IAM, and service accounts • Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, CloudFront, Route53, and IAM • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Terraform • Experience with Kubernetes control planes, autoscaling, readiness/liveness probes, cluster upgrades, and workload reliability • CI/CD expertise using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, and Git-based release workflows • Experience with RabbitMQ or similar message queue technologies • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, and YAML • Experience with secrets management, Workload Identity Federation, RBAC, and secure deployment practices • Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, DNS, CDN, SSL/TLS, and production change management • Experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, RCA, and postmortems • Strong operational mindset with the ability to use metrics to improve reliability, deployment quality, and platform performance Typical Tasks and Responsibilities • Design, maintain, and improve scalable cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS • Build and evolve Terraform, Helm, and automation frameworks • Lead Kubernetes workload design, cluster upgrades, scaling, and reliability improvements • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Build • Support RabbitMQ-based and event-driven microservice infrastructure • Improve monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, dashboards, and SLO/SLI tracking • Troubleshoot complex cloud, networking, Kubernetes, deployment, and infrastructure issues • Manage IAM permissions, service accounts, SSL certificates, secrets, and security controls • Lead production deployment planning, rollback strategies, and release readiness activities • Participate in incident response, RCA, and postmortem follow-ups • Drive DevSecOps practices, compliance readiness, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure governance • Define and evolve DevOps standards, deployment practices, and operational best practices • Mentor DevOps Engineers 1-3 and provide technical guidance through design reviews and knowledge sharing • Partner with engineering, QA, video, security, product, and infrastructure teams on planning and execution
Responsibilities:
- Championing the optimization of the development process to effectively bridge the gap between software development, engineering, and management
- Driving the pursuit of continuous improvement with robust continuous integration, development, and deployment pipelines
- Advocating for and overseeing the automation of processes to accelerate the software development process
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between development and operations teams for rapid product development
- Monitoring application performance to anticipate and correct operational issues
- Creating and maintaining stable, deployable, and scalable operating environments by continuously improving infrastructure
- Commanding advanced knowledge of development processes and programming languages
- Ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices for security and compliance throughout the development and operations lifecycle
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
