Our Client, A leading manufacturing company in the industry is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to perform all electrical maintenance work across the plant. This role involves diagnosing machine faults, conducting electrical preventive maintenance, ensuring machine settings, and supporting power equipment operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in minimizing downtime, ensuring electrical safety compliance, and supporting efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis for machines and equipment across the plant.
- Perform electrical assembly tasks and ensure proper start-up and shutdown procedures for machinery and utility systems.
- Manage power changeover activities between TANESCO and DG sources.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of required spare parts and inform the Maintenance Manager proactively.
- Work towards minimizing downtime, with the goal of achieving zero breakdown hours.
- Comply with all safety protocols for machines, tools, and electrical components.
- Obtain approved work permits before executing high-risk tasks, especially at heights or in intricate machine areas.
- Maintain accurate records of daily and weekly breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
- Adhere strictly to PPE and established safety procedures when handling machines and electrical equipment.
- Support the Maintenance Manager with major maintenance work on plant wiring, substations, transformers, and related systems.
- Ensure thorough housekeeping and cleanliness of machines, tools, and work areas after task completion.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Certificate Grade/Level 3 or FTC in Electrical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and fault diagnosis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and measurements.
- Basic proficiency in Swahili and English, both written and spoken.
Skills Required
- Certificate Grade/Level 3 or FTC in Electrical Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
