As an Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing electronic subsystems including computing platforms, user interfaces, displays, and EMC-compliant designs, for Philips Image Guided Therapy products. In this role, you will contribute to developing components and system elements using the V-model methodology while aligning with user needs, product requirements, and business objectives.
You will apply internal and external research insights, leverage emerging technologies, and ensure robust system-level thinking throughout the design lifecycle. Your work will contribute directly to delivering high-quality, reliable, and innovative solutions that enhance performance and enable exceptional clinical experiences.
Your Role:
- Develop specifications for various subsystems like PC’s, Displays, User interface etc.
- Creating and/or participating in design reviews and risk assessments (e.g. FMEA)
- Alignment with other functions (mechanical, mechatronics, norm compliance, test and validation, purchase, quality, other).
- Conducting early integration tests on predefined prototypes and addressing supplier issues will also be your responsibility. You will follow up on any necessary actions.
- Execute verification of units and parts according to your assignment, with expertise in EMC testing will be a plus.
- Your role will require performing all tasks in line with established department processes.
- Your role will require safety test specification (IEC60601-1) for sub-systems, Setup the test strategy and test plans to comply with international standards in alignment with the norm compliance department. Perform functional and compliance tests with documentation.
- Created requirements, Designed, developed and verified, released at least 1 sub-system of independently.
You are a part of Infrastructure department in Mechatronic Development Cluster within the IGT Fixed Systems R&D organization. The department consists of an open and multi-cultural team working towards new product introductions (NPI) of image guided therapy system.
You are fit if:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant R&D working experience in medical domain.
- Experience in product design, development, and maintenance of released products. (preferable experience in IEC60601-1-2).
- Excellent design documentation skills.
- Result oriented and self-steering with a problem-solving attitude.
- Good Knowledge of Embedded Analog and Digital hardware design, experience in new product introduction or life-cycle development in a regulated industry
- Ability to work independently & to act proactively.
- Good command of English (both written and verbal).
- Work experience in Agile Release Trains following SAFe framework will be preferred.
- Quality mindset, A Six Sigma Green Belt will be a plus.
- Experience and knowledge of EMC in design and testing will be a plus.
- Experience in utilizing AI platforms and working with AI-driven tools would be a plus.
- Experience in user interface (UI) design and knowledge of UX principles for hardware/software integration will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of FDA guidelines and compliance requirements for medical devices will be preferred.
How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
