Our team is expanding and looking to add an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector. 

Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will maintain the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) standards at a manufacturing facility and a smaller nearby pass-through facility.  Maintain compliance with OSHA, and federal laws. Develop, implement, and monitor safety strategies that promote a safe and healthy workplace. Identify employee safety training needs and plan for training and other methods to achieve desired results.  Communicate with your safety team members, supervisors, and managers to obtain or maintain compliance with applicable regulations. Other responsibilities include:

  • Set up and oversee the company's EHS management system, ensuring compliance with national laws and the group's regulations.
  • Responsible for establishing and attaining annual EHS targets.
  • Manage daily EHS operations, including plant construction, special equipment, occupational health and safety, and waste management. Identify operational EHS risks, coordinate resource control, and implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Handle EHS incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Provide staff education and training on EHS matters to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate with relevant government departments and social organizations regarding EHS issues.

 

To qualify for this role you must meet the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience and understanding of OSHA standards 
  • Proficient in EHS management knowledge and tools;
  • Familiar with the system requirements of the automotive industry and the special requirements of Vehicle OEMs.
  • A global mindset and openness towards embracing the diverse cultures within an international company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Manufacturing environment experience desired, automotive a plus
