The Global EHS team partners closely with Workplace Resources, stakeholder organizations, and regional leadership to reduce risk and strengthen our safety culture. Your Impact
As a EHS Project Manager based in Portugal, you will support all local OHS activities as detailed in the local regulations as well as supporting regional EHS initiatives. You will act as the bridge between the Global EHS team and regional partners, ensuring compliance across Cisco Portugal offices and the EMEA region. You will lead local and regional compliance efforts and implement standardized EHS procedures to mitigate operational risks in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role means improved country and regional performance, working cross functionally to deliver timely and effective closure of compliance gaps, and measurable progress in reducing the likelihood of serious injury, illness, or non-compliance. You will use EHS data and systems to draw insights and accelerate data-driven decision-making using AI-augmented tools. This role is critical to maintaining Cisco’s reputation as a safe, inclusive, and compliant global technology leader.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree (MS) or bachelor’s of science (BS) degree in Occupational Health and Safety or postgraduate studies in Occupational Health and Safety or other qualification that meets the requirements of the local ACT certification in accordance with Portugal regulations.
· Holds the professional certificate from ACT for Senior Occupational Safety Technician
A minimum of 2 year of experience in an OHS team,
Experience in conducting health and safety training,
High level of both Portuguese and English language capabilities (reading, writing and verbal communication)
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and social skills, with the ability to influence and engage coworkers and encourage positive safety outcomes across diverse business units.
Good technological skills and capable of learning new tools, systems, and software. Familiarity with AI tools, Agile, or Lean methodologies to streamline status reporting and project validation,
Highly organized and proactive management style with the ability to lead complex projects in a hybrid work model.
Proficient in using basic office software such as PPT, Excel, Word,
Project management experience,
Fire protection inspection experience,
ISO 14K and 45K internal auditor,
Experience in organizing health and safety awareness events;
· Experience supporting occupational health and safety activities in countries other than Portugal is an advantage.
