Data Engineering Manager

The Data domain plays a pivotal role in our operations by empowering analytics, reporting, and data-driven strategies. As the Data Engineering Manager, you will lead this high-performing team to deliver scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.

Job Summary

As the Data Engineering Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end development and operation of our modern data platforms, utilizing tools and technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Data Vault, data ingestion pipelines, and Qlik Replicate. You will work closely with digital product managers and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers high-quality, timely, and secure solutions while maintaining compliance with industry best practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers to deliver on the data warehouse roadmap, leveraging Agile best practices.
  • Oversee Agile ceremonies, ensuring user stories and deliverables are clear, refined, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data solutions, including data pipelines, transformation workflows, and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure the adoption of modern data architecture principles, including ELT/ETL workflows, Data Vault modeling, and Snowflake performance optimization.
  • Provide technical guidance on the use of tools like dbt, Airflow, and Qlik Replicate for building and managing data pipelines and workflows.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data governance, security standards, and operational SLAs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and define priorities for the data warehouse team.
  • Manage resource scheduling and project timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Mentor team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

You should apply if you:

  • Have hands-on experience managing modern cloud-based data platforms, particularly Snowflake.
  • Are proficient in dbt, Airflow, Data Vault modeling, and data pipeline orchestration tools.
  • Have experience with data ingestion frameworks, Qlik Replicate, and modern ETL/ELT practices.
  • Understand best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Have a proven track record of managing high-performing teams and delivering complex data solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a passion for fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with additional data engineering tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows or advanced analytics use cases.
  • Background in financial services or insurance industries.
