EC Payroll Operations Specialists serve as an extension of the Toast Payroll product by executing the daily banking, and payment processes fundamental to our core payroll product. This includes managing the transfer of funds for customer payroll liabilities, as well as troubleshooting discrepancies caused by banking errors.  

Payroll Operations Specialists also support the implementation and ongoing operations for many of Toast’s partner enabled products.

As a Payroll Operations Specialists II you will work with internal teams, third party partners, and clients to resolve customer inquiries and execute these daily processes. 

You will help maintain customer satisfaction through the timely and accurate execution of these processes. You will be expected to work autonomously under the supervision of your manager and must be able to self-manage and self-prioritize your workload based on team and customer needs. You will also be trusted to handle more complex daily operations, and work directly with the internal team on escalated issues.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Complete complex Banking and Payment functions within departmental SLAs. 
    • These tasks will include processing ACH Reversals, Federal Trace Number Requests, Stop Payments, and Bounced Payrolls.
  • Work with internal and external partners to resolve customer inquiries and banking/payment discrepancies.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing support for partner enabled products
  • Serve as a resource for less tenured colleagues and assist with entry-level responsibilities as needed.
  • Communicate directly with customers to resolve banking and payment issues.
  • Independently identify common issues, trends or inefficiencies and take steps to document and report on them.

  • Proactive in nature, works to improve knowledge of core functions
  • Excellent attention to detail and unwavering commitment accuracy
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Customer focused and embraces empathic approach to all aspects of the role
  • Experience with banking, treasury management, or payroll

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).

$78,000$125,000 USD
