Designs Cabin in White components for Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses, including packaging, sheet metal panels, brackets, drawings, and end-to-end release activities. Collaborates with stakeholders and suppliers, manages ECOs, configuration, DMU checks, clash and clearance analysis, and resolves technical conflicts. Ensures compliance with quality processes, safety and homologation documentation, and release standards while driving innovation and continuous competency development.

Engineer for Cabin CiW design for MB Trucks

Responsibilities
  • Analyse technical requirements & functional specifications of Cabin in White module for Truck or Bus and come up with a structured solution within a defined timeline/milestone
  • Study packaging space for different Cabin sheet metal panels or Brackets based on variant need  and work with responsible teams in coming up with a suitable packaging solution
  • Close connect with the stakeholders (RD & cross functions) from concept to hardware and beyond
  • Handle end to end design and release activities including ECO preparation and follow-up


  • Work closely with suppliers for quick adaptations and ensure timely releases
  • Take responsibility and ownership for end to end development and resolve any technical conflicts and disagreements
  • Challenge status quo and look for opportunities to add value through innovation, competency building and automation
  • Ensure technical compliance and QMS processes are adhered to and followed as per company defined guidelines
  • Look for continuous competency enhancement to further strengthen the collaboration


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mechanical or Automobile
  • Minimum experience of 1.5 years in the CiW domain
  • Very good design knowledge on Plastic, Sheet metal, casting, and sheet metal components
  • Experience in creating component and part level drawings 
  • Knowledge of Variant/feature coding for Cabin module


  • Excellent knowledge of NX, SMARAGD/Platon or equivalent PLM tools
  • Experience of MB processes for documentation and release is mandatory
  • Knowledge in end to end release and configuration management
  • Knowledge of 3-2-1 Principle, GD & T application and Tolerance stack up
  • Knowledge of Safety and homologation documentation of parts and components
  • Experience in Vehicle Digital mockups (DMU) Management - DMU Build, DMU Check, Clash and clearance
  • Knowledge in DT Release management
  • Good communication and meeting moderation skills
  • German language skills is an advantage
  • Good team player, highly motivated individual

Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience in the Cabin in White domain
  • Very good design knowledge of plastic, sheet metal, casting, and sheet metal components
  • Experience creating component- and part-level drawings
  • Knowledge of variant and feature coding for cabin modules
  • Excellent knowledge of NX and SMARAGD, Platon, or equivalent PLM tools
