This non-exempt position, under the direction of the firm's Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, assists in coordinating, planning, implementation, evaluation and enhancement of the firm's diversity program. This includes, but is not limited to, training initiatives and programs related to diversity and inclusion.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the administrative support of programs to advance diversity and inclusion in all offices.
  • Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and attending diversity-focused committee meetings and Inclusion Network meetings (i.e., affinity group meetings).
  • Coordinate the development of presentations and other materials to provide information concerning the goals and objectives of the firm and its diversity and inclusion-focused Committees and demographic data regarding DEI performance.
  • Assist in managing responses and gathering data for diversity inquiries in RFPs and client diversity surveys.
  • Responsible for coordinating event details for diversity functions, such as firm receptions, lunches, and meetings.
  • Generate reports of diversity information as requested by clients and other organizations.
  • Travel, as needed, to firm offices to support DEI meetings and functions.

Other Duties

  • Assist and provide information and planning support to the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship

The Diversity Coordinator will report directly to the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience

  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Human Resources experience is valuable, but not required.
  • Must have 1 or more years of progressive related experience.
  • DEI experience is not required, but an interest in learning DEI strategy is preferred.

Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Suite to produce quality written communications, including written documents in WORD, presentations in PowerPoint and advanced functions of Excel.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and self-directed approach.
  • Strong client-service skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must pay attention to details and have the ability to follow-up and follow-through.
  • Approachable and collaborative; team oriented.
  • Able to organize and maintain a significant number of diverse, concurrent projects.
  • Able to research and analyze information.
  • Demonstrated judgment, tact, candor, and resourcefulness.
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel in a team environment and across multiple offices.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Education

BBA in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.; Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis.); Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs.; This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff; This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 90% of the time. Some travel may be required.

Working Conditions

Office environment. Occasional overtime may be required.
