About the Role
Kroll’s Restructuring practice provides effective solutions to clients including major banks, asset-based lenders, private equity firms, law firms, financial sponsors, corporates, and other stakeholders in distressed situations across industries.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to lead business development activities for our Restructuring teams, including regional and global initiatives.
The key focus of this role is to drive revenue growth, build client relationships, and originate new opportunities across our restructuring services.
This role will work closely with Restructuring leadership to execute growth plans, strengthen market presence, and support the expansion of our client base.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Enablement
Identify, originate, and convert new business opportunities across priority sectors and markets
Build, manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
Work closely with senior stakeholders to position and win mandates
Client & Intermediary Relationships
Develop and manage relationships with clients and key intermediaries (e.g. banks, law firms, private equity, financial sponsors)
Act as a trusted commercial partner, understanding client needs and positioning Kroll’s capabilities effectively
Build and leverage industry networks to generate new business prospects and partnerships
Client Pursuit & Conversion
- Lead and support client pursuit activity, including opportunity identification, qualification, and conversion
- Work closely with our senior restructuring professionals to position and win mandates
- Drive a structured and disciplined approach to pipeline progression and deal conversion
Cross-Service Line Collaboration
Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across Kroll’s service lines and geographies
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated client solutions
Support global and regional initiatives to drive coordinated go-to-market efforts
Reporting & Analytics
Manage KPIs to track effectiveness of business development activity
Maintain disciplined pipeline tracking and reporting through internal systems (e.g. Salesforce)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in business development within a professional services or consulting environment (restructuring experience preferred)
Proven track record in business development / revenue generation within professional services Background in one or more of the following:
Business development within law firms
Consulting / advisory firms
Accounting / restructuring firms
OR former restructuring / insolvency practitioners who have moved into a commercial role
Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and convert pipeline into revenue
Established network of clients and intermediaries
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand client needs and position solutions effectively
Highly proactive, relationship-driven, and results-oriented
Strong understanding of restructuring, insolvency, or special situations advisory
- Proven track record of driving growth and executing successful BD and marketing strategies
- Strong commercial mindset with excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

Skills Required
