ispace Technologies, US. located in Denver Colorado is a looking for a highly motivated and talented Director of Quality and Mission Assurance to join its team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish the processes and procedures to achieve AS9100 Certification.
  • Lead the coordination of the AS9100 certification process. 
  • Assure quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products.
  • Develop and implement quality standards. 
  • Ensure supplier and internal audits are conducted efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with functional leads on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) inputs and update KPI Dashboards. 
  • Develop metrics/reports, identify data trends, propose solutions, and assist with the solution implementation. 
  • Ensure inspection of materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specifications. 
  • Establish continuous improvement to the Quality Management System 
  • Serve as a member of the Material Review Board and assure appropriate disposition, cause and corrective action on non-conformance reports. 
  • Create product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements.
  • Collaborate with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Develop a quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Effectively lead quality assurance staff by coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the ispace mission by accomplishing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (e.g., Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related fields. We will consider a combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality within aerospace/aviation industry 
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership positions in the Q&MA field (preferably as Dir of Q&MA).
  • Experience in Configuration Management within PLM and ERP systems 
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or ASQ standards for QM particularly experience in initial AS9100 certification.
  • Experience in managing supplier quality. 
  • Experience with flight hardware in a manufacturing/test environment. 
  • Ability to interpret & work from engineering drawings & 3D models. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, collaborative, project/product management, computer, and QA process skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as technician and/or quality inspector 
  • Experience with various mechanical and electrical inspection, measurement, and test equipment (e.g., gauges, meters, calipers, circuit testers) 
  • Experience working for Aerospace/Space Prime or sub-contractor strongly preferred 
  • Experience in startup environment a plus 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based upon experience -$135,000-$180,000. The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
