Paid 12-week summer supply chain internship supporting active projects, programs, and daily team activities in a commercial space company. The role is full-time and in-person in Englewood, Colorado, from May through August 2027.

Interns work on real projects at ispace across engineering, mission operations, production/AIT, IT, legal, finance, and business teams. The program emphasizes specialized technical contributions, collaboration with experienced professionals, and career development. Internships may be part-time or full-time, with a preference for commitments of six months or longer. Roles are based onsite at the Tokyo office, and English or Japanese proficiency is mandatory. Leads the U.S. supply chain organization, including procurement, supplier management, subcontracting, logistics, and receiving. Establishes processes, develops teams, manages flight-quality hardware sourcing, mitigates supply risks, and ensures compliance with FAR, DFARS, NASA requirements, ITAR, and EAR. Partners with engineering, production, quality, legal, and program management to align materials, suppliers, costs, and schedules for spaceflight programs.

Lead mechanical design and development of lunar rover structures, mechanisms, lander interfaces, and ground support equipment from concept through flight. Create CAD models, manufacturing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation; perform trade studies, prototyping, tolerance analysis, and design reviews. Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, resolve manufacturing issues, support inspections and assembly integration, and manage technical risks for flight-ready space hardware.

Own the complete lifecycle of electronic hardware for lunar rover systems, including architecture, component selection, schematic and PCB design, simulation, manufacturing support, bring-up, debugging, verification, and environmental testing. Lead technical work packages, manage risks, defend designs in reviews, collaborate across engineering disciplines, document results, develop test automation, and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Develop and maintain embedded C software for lunar rover systems running on embedded Linux and electronic hardware. Responsibilities include software design, hardware and FPGA integration, requirements development, testing, debugging, board-level troubleshooting, documentation, and quality improvements. Collaborate with FPGA, electronics, avionics, systems, mechanical, and test engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance rover software.

Plan, execute, and analyze qualification and acceptance testing for lunar landers, relay satellites, subsystems, and components. Develop test requirements, procedures, instrumentation, fixtures, and verification documentation; conduct tests safely; analyze data; report results; investigate failures; resolve nonconformances; and maintain test equipment, facilities, configuration control, and laboratory capabilities. Collaborate closely with design, systems, integration, manufacturing, and technician teams in hands-on laboratory, cleanroom, and production environments.

Plans and executes company-wide culture, employee engagement, internal communication, CSR, and DE&I initiatives. Coordinates events, town halls, global programs, student outreach, and cultural activities; analyzes engagement data; manages promotional materials; and creates content for intranet and internal communication platforms. The role requires cross-cultural stakeholder collaboration, bilingual Japanese-English communication, and strong project and time management in a hybrid Tokyo work environment.

Collaborates with avionics, ground-segment, systems, suppliers, customers, and other engineering teams while managing schedules, costs, quality, tasks, and technical issues.

Supports product and quality assurance across lunar rover development, manufacturing, integration, verification, and testing. Responsibilities include developing PA/QA plans, reviewing supplier and inspection documentation, conducting audits, managing non-conformances, supporting risk and change management, participating in engineering and manufacturing reviews, and verifying test configurations, calibration, and procedures. The role ensures compliance with ECSS, EN 9100, and applicable quality, safety, and reliability requirements.

Provides executive support through diary and correspondence management, travel planning, meeting coordination, visitor hosting, and follow-up tracking. Handles general affairs including office operations, facilities and supplier coordination, invoices, reception, deliveries, procurement support, and event logistics. Maintains documented processes and contributes to office expansion, relocation, workplace enhancement, process optimization, and other internal initiatives. Requires discretion, strong organization, autonomy, and fluent French and English.

Provides practical legal guidance across commercial contracts, government contracting, export controls, technology transfer, employment law, corporate compliance, investigations, and cross-border business activities. Drafts and negotiates agreements, advises leadership on legal and regulatory risks, supports aerospace and government customers, coordinates outside counsel, and partners with global teams in a fast-paced commercial space environment.

The Satellite Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing satellite system development and mission design, balancing technical coherence, decision making, and engineering leadership across projects.
