Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Operations in overseeing daily operational activities, with a focus on post-trade processing, settlement, cash management, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, to ensure timely, accurate, and controlled service delivery across supported businesses.
- Manage end-to-end post-trade activities across multiple markets and asset classes, including equities, listed and OTC derivatives, structured products, bonds, money market funds, and virtual assets, etc., ensuring efficient settlement, timely exception handling, and effective coordination with brokers, custodians, and clearing houses.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for operational incidents, failed trades, and client-impacting issues, ensuring prompt resolution and clear stakeholder communication.
- Monitor key operational risk indicators, including aged breaks, settlement efficiency, and reconciliation exceptions, and escalate issues, control gaps, and resource constraints in a timely manner.
- Support Front Office and business stakeholders on operational matters and work closely with internal and external parties to resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate in new product launches and business initiatives, ensuring appropriate controls, operational readiness, and resource planning are in place prior to go-live.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives to enhance scalability, strengthen controls, and improve service quality.
- Ensure all operational activities are performed in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and Group policies.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day oversight to junior team members, supporting team development and maintaining a strong operational control environment.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Finance or Business Administration or related discipline(s)
- At least 10 years of experience in Operations, with expertise in equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, SBL, and derivatives
- Familiar with CCASS, DCASS, Euroclear, and related systems operations
- Good communication, strong people management and inter-personal skills
- Strong project management, process transformation experience and some IT advanced knowledge is preferable.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
