Job Description

Position Summary

The Office Leader will oversee an integrated design and construction team, and will report directly to the Regional Vice President. The expectation is the Office Leader would be physically present in the office a minimum of 3-4 days per week to drive the team and business, with some level of local travel to support project work and manage client relationships.

The role of the Office Leader is to set and communicate the strategic vision and cultural atmosphere for the office, and further the integration of our businesses in both our internal and external endeavors. The Office Leader will be responsible for leadership and oversight of the Conshohocken office and achieving key business goals on a consistent basis. The expectation is that the Office Leader will have the motivation and passion for providing team leadership, business development, and growth of an integrated design and construction team. 

The Office Leader will work directly with the Sr Directors of Operations (SDOs) and other Regional Leadership team members, including project leaders, to ensure general business operations and field execution management objectives are met. This position will require high levels of energy and drive, the ability to maintain a strong sense of focus and purpose under pressure, a capability to work independently, and a strong, unwavering personal and business integrity. 

The split of responsibilities would be approximately: 50% - Operations Leadership, supporting successful project delivery and in some cases acting as a Project Executive or Sponsor; 30% Client Development, involved in managing existing client relationships as well as securing new clients; 20% - People Leadership, managing Group Leaders and key project leadership staff in the office. It is expected that the successful candidate will also bring a local network of potential partners and/or clients to build on CRB’s current success in the market.

Additional details about the Office Leader’s scope of responsibilities are outlined below: 

Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate the strategic vision and cultural atmosphere for the office
  • Promote a strong safety culture and maintain a safety record that is in the top quartile of CII metrics for industry leaders; Hold accountability for the safety performance of projects being executed out of the Conshohocken office - centered on CRB’s overall commitment to operating a safe work place both in the office and at the jobsite
  • Lead annual business planning efforts for the office and define how the company’s strategic vision and annual goals will be adopted and delivered through execution at an office level
  • Serve as client point of contact for new and existing clients by participating in business development and networking activities, maintaining personal client relationships, and acting as Project Executive on ongoing projects
  • Develop project win and execution strategies for key pursuits, and ensure an integrated approach is consistently applied to each project whenever possible
  • Develop and grow the office using a collaborative and entrepreneurial model by identifying strategic growth opportunities in new markets, client bases, or other avenues while retaining commitment to our regional business objectives and company core values 
  • Responsible for overall office financial performance of design and construction operations - and for meeting revenue, growth, and profitability targets as agreed to with the RVP and SDOs.
  • Management oversight of key, strategic projects where appropriate to deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting client satisfaction goals
  • Set and enforce workplace standards in line with CRB’s core values and behavioral expectations
  • Manage office Group Leaders and Project Managers, and assist them with their roles and responsibilities

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar Business-related field
  • 15+ years of experience in design/construction industry
  • 10+ years of experience in Life Sciences / Food + Beverage or adjacent high-tech industries
  • 2+ years of experience in management or direct oversight of design and/or construction teams
  • Experience with design/build integration at a project and operational level
  • Experience with Business Development and Client Management
  • Experience with Business Operations with a proven track record of accountability and profitability
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence a must
  • Fully bought in on CRB’s core values and cultural identity
