Responsible for segment of business which is in growth mode that has high potential for increasing sales, currently represents about 15% of the market. Responsible for creating and maintaining a successful relationship one of the largest GPO (Group Purchase Organization) primarily serving the education market (College and University).Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Director National Sales position is completely 100% remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position may have the potential to travel up to 40% dependent on business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement strategies for the Education segment of National Accounts to meet assigned sales and profitability objectives;
• Act as primary liaison for a sector specific market and operations group to maximize sales and profitability for USF and GPO;
• Provide a road map for customer contracting activity to drive Education sales growth to aligned suppliers by utilizing Monarch's / USF Category Management review process;
• Manage the relevant communication and education to field, sales personnel and Support Office staff to ensure understanding of contract elements and business objectives to provide service excellence for particular market segment;
• Maintain and strengthen the relationship with GPO by understanding and responding to customer needs and market conditions in a timely and effective manner utilizing appropriate resources as need;
• Manage the resolution of supplier issues associated with contract pursuit and execution;
• Track performance in assigned business sector;
• Monitor utilization of contracts by member, division performance and provide leadership the information necessary to maintain field sales focus on contract product penetration;
• Develop specific action plans to achieve planned performance targets;
• Act as the advocate within US Foods for all major customer issues in assigned market segment;
• Frequent overnight travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Related Experience:
• Minimum 7 years foodservice sales experience required;
• Prior education or government experience preferred;
• Demonstrated positive customer interfacing experience also required;
• Experience dealing with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and large regional or national multi-location chains strongly desired;
• Minimum 2 years specific experience in College and University business segment required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong interpersonal skills - relationship builder;
• Ability to leverage relationships to achieve business goals, strategic thinking skills, strong business acumen and business maturity required;
• Must have excellent oral/written communication skills, be well organized with strong follow through;
• Strong leadership and team building skills with proven results orientation also required;
• Proven track record of positive relationships within the business segment and with applicable associations required;
• Must be able to successfully take design concepts through to execution.
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $95,000 - $155,000.
This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.
