Director, Legal Compliance, Anti-Corruption
Overview
The Director, Anti-Corruption will be responsible for implementing, strengthening and sustaining a successful Anti-Corruption compliance program, primarily in connection with the acquired entity. The role will provide guidance and direction to acquired entity teams, among others, so that they comply with established compliance policies and procedures as well as suitable interim controls. The role will send regular communications, conduct training, and support monitoring and testing of compliance controls.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Integration Workstream Leads for Sales, Legal, Core, Compliance, P&C, Risk Management, Finance, Government Affairs, Strategic Growth, Marketing, Philanthropy, and the Business Conduct Office. The position will support compliance with M&A integration updates and reporting. The candidate will also be required to be a self-starter and can function independently. The position will support the use and implementation of a risk-based approach to help identify areas of focus to further embed Anti-Corruption compliance initiatives.
Role• Report to the VP Europe Regional Compliance Lead• Support the deployment of the Anti-Corruption compliance strategy and program for acquired entity• Operationalize Mastercard's Anti-Corruption program within the acquired entity by identifying any priority gaps • Build a relationship with acquired entity leadership team to align with Mastercard's compliance culture • Enhance alliances to support Anti-Corruption compliance by coordinating with the rest of the acquired entity Compliance, Legal, Risk Lead, Finance, Marketing, and P&C teams• Support, organize, and implement regional and local Anti-Corruption training programs• Advice on Anti-Corruption compliance matters including, as appropriate, Conflict of Interests• Partner with Legal, Government Affairs, and the business to stay abreast of changes in local laws and regulations and recommend changes to operations, as appropriate, to ensure continued compliance of the acquired entity

• Confident and seasoned leader with strong interpersonal skills• Proven ability to work with all levels of management• Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgement • Ability to observe the social niceties even while in intense negotiations• Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills• Compliance experience in a multi-national public company is a plus• Experience with Anti-Corruption program development, including familiarity with U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act and other European regulations• JD, LL.B. or equivalent preferred • Fluency in English required, Additional languages desirable

Skills Required

  • Experience implementing and operationalizing anti-corruption compliance programs
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act and other European anti-corruption regulations
  • Fluency in English
  • JD, LL.B. or equivalent
  • Experience in a multinational public company compliance function
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of management
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to function independently and be a self-starter
  • Experience delivering training, communications, monitoring and testing of compliance controls
