Job DescriptionThe Position
Lead product management activities for segment of HVM products.
● Guide or support the product managers to lead cross-functional teams to manage meeting customer expectations with respect to supply & quality, developing a robust supply chain and ensuring the future needs are met.
Responsibilities
● Provide product pricing guidance to commercial team. Develop pricing, cost, and profitability roadmaps for key products
● In collaboration with sales and technical marketing teams, work with customers to identify potential product improvements and change horizons
● Working together with Product Development, Quality, Operations, and Sales, develop strategies and tactics for product families & product versioning to increase market penetration with sustainable competitive advantages
● Identify and specify supply chain options. Work with procurement and quality to ensure stable supply of critical raw materials for product(s)
● Manage shadow P&L for product(s), demonstrating product or product family performance throughout its lifecycle including product strategy, product planning, and issue prioritization.
● Lead Continuous Improvement Teams to identify opportunities to improve profitability of products through alternative sourcing, operational improvements, alternative packaging, capital investments, etc.
● Develop investment theses for capital projects and strategic partnerships to support product capacity expansions and market growth
● Establish and maintain awareness and understanding of customer and market needs and competitive positioning and utilize the knowledge for the development of product strategies.
● Coordinate internal product communication and information across product family or product line.
● Act as primary negotiator between internal customers to resolve issues. Seek out and establish external partnerships which bring value to product offerings.
● Mentor, support and manage direct reports and develop them to reach their career goals
● Degree in engineering or chemistry with formal business training, OR MBA degree in combination with strong technical acumen, training or prior experience. Previous experience with product development, marketing, or sales is a plus.
● Five or more years’ experience working the semiconductor industry as a product manager, program manager or similar role
● Five years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment. Direct experience in materials industry preferred
● Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills
● Outstanding oral and written communication skills
● Project management experience
● Solid background in financial modeling and including cost of ownership modeling. Capital investment justification is a plus
● Solid understanding of industry issues and trends in combination with strong understanding of product development and manufacturing.
● Ability to quickly and effectively assess, evaluate, and communicate market opportunities, competitive issues, and business performance.
● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate across organizational and cultural boundaries.
● Excellent internal and external ambassador for Products and Programs.
● Ability to effectively motivate, facilitate, and direct the activities of individuals and project teams.
● Excellent organizational and resource management skills.
● Ability to travel regionally and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Five or more years’ experience working in product management, marketing, or technical sales at a semiconductor materials supplier
● Experience with or understanding of thin film processes (semiconductor, flat panel display, solar) and/or PVD systems strongly desired.
● Familiarity with semiconductor quality and operational practices, including lean manufacturing, six sigma etc.
● Experience working with manufacturing sites and suppliers outside of the US
● Experience with databases and MRP/ERP systems
● Japanese and/or Korean language speaking skills a plus
