Located within MetLife's Global Resilience organization. We are seeking a Director of Global Emergency response to work on-site in New York City, where they will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a Global Physical Emergency Response governance program. This role reports to the AVP of Global Resilience Preparedness and Response.
Location: Must live within a commutable distance of the New York, NY office

The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and execution of MetLife's enterprise-wide Physical Emergency Response program. The Director of Emergency Response is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive emergency preparedness and response programs across all MetLife sites. This role ensures that MetLife is able to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against emergencies and disasters through effective planning, training, and coordination with internal partners, vendors, and MetLife's senior leadership team.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Develops, implements, and leads MetLife's Global Emergency Response Program. ( Physical Emergency)
- Implements global governance and reporting standards, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for Emergency Response program implementation.
- In conjunction with key partners, captures, manages, and supports metrics reporting to reflect both, readiness, and maturity of the organization's Emergency Response capability.
- Prepare and deliver periodic presentations on the status of the Emergency Response Program, identified risks, and results of testing.
- Provide leadership support during emergencies, including coordinating site response, scheduling, and facilitating status meetings and providing written and verbal updates to MetLife stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Act as a core member of the US and Global Response Team providing guidance and oversight during crisis events.
- Benchmarks against industry standards to identify and implement best practices and procedures. for program maintenance
- Works with technology teams and vendors to administer MetLife's emergency notification system, including user access, training, documentation, testing, troubleshooting and data validation.
- Works with MetLife's 3rd Party facilities management vendors to enhance standards where necessary or ensure compliance with life safety and contractual agreements.
- Leads the implementation of employee emergency response training and awareness programs in collaboration with MetLife partners and vendors.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- 8+ years of Emergency Response and Preparedness experience
- A proven record of leading and implementing a global Emergency Response program in a multinational corporate organization.
- The ability to drive multi- stakeholder engagement, at all levels to deliver quality work in a timely fashion in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and conceptual skills to manage a variety of simultaneous projects, programs, and assignments.
- Ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills including effective written, oral, and listening communication skills; conflict resolution skills; the ability to work with and communicate with all levels of the organization,
- Willingness to travel within the US and globally as required.
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
- Professional certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Associate Emergency Manager (AEM), ICS-400
- Multilingual capability is a plus
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $126,300 - $168,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
