Your Next Career Opportunity – Director, Global Benefits
The Director, Global Benefits is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and administering global benefits and wellness programs in all markets. As a member of Human Resources and the Total Rewards leadership team, the leader will drive the global benefits strategy by continuously monitoring market trends, taking a long-term view on plan designs, recommending enhancements and delivering programs that meet the diverse needs of the company's People. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: collaborating with global and local vendors to develop and maintain global benefits programs; investigating new benefits programs and improving existing programs; managing and administering the day-to-day operations of health and ancillary benefit programs, billing, leaves of absence and compliance; providing analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefits and wellness programs; facilitating the auditing and analysis of benefits information, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the benefits administration system. The role will include managing vendor relationships, recommending and implementing process improvements and owning the annual renewal and enrollment process. Additionally, the role will assist with special projects as needed.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations and administration of global benefits and wellness programs. Manages, coordinates and communicates the benefit programs (i.e. medical, health care savings account, COBRA, flexible spending, dental, vision, prescription drug, life, STD, LTD, and wellness). Manages open enrollment process, new team member orientations, team member qualifying events, team member benefits inquiries, monthly invoices, and monthly claims reviews.

  • Researches and responds to questions from team members and leaders regarding the interpretation of benefits plans, including eligibility and covered services.

  • Administers and evaluates wellness and healthcare educational programs to promote healthy lifestyles and changes in health care utilization and compliance.

  • Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc).

  • Researches and analyzes industry and local trends and practices, legislative trends, current plan and needs to arrive at recommendations for improvement and plan design. Monitors external competitiveness trends by country and region.

  • Leads review of global benefit offerings, forecasting, and plans administration activities. Implements global benefits plan design changes and enhancements based on market studies and internal value proposition and business needs.

  • Partners with key stakeholders to solicit feedback on local benefits requirements and to ensure cost effectiveness and consistency in program concepts, guidelines and implementation. Provides direction to Total Rewards Senior Leadership to negotiate cost efficient renewals while ensuring that the benefit plans are meeting the needs of the company's People and the business.

  • Manages and negotiates relationships with benefit plan brokers, providers, vendors and consultants on a global basis for premiums and plan administration, in addition to compliance with regulatory requirements, laws, and service expectations. Manages on-boarding and implementation of new vendors for in-region benefits plans and offerings.

  • Partners with Legal, Finance, Payroll, IT, and the global HR team to administer and implement programs. Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Work with communications colleagues to roll out benefits information to stakeholders globally.

  • Ensures necessary plan documents are acknowledged and government-mandated disclosures are posted, filed and distributed to eligible team members.

  • Manages projects related to system enhancements, process improvements and team member experience around global benefits programs and offerings.

  • Oversees development of informative materials from benefits vendors and partners, ensuring updates to plan design and compliance are reflected in such collateral literature.

  • Trains new HR team members on global benefits processes, best practices, and available benefits resources and data bases.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse group of high performing team members.

  • Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.

  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, including overseeing new team member onboarding and providing career development planning and growth opportunities.

  • Empower team members to take ownership of their job and goals. Delegate responsibilities as needed and provide routine constructive feedback on performance.

  • Create a culture that is consistent with the organization's focus on team member engagement and that aligns with the organization's mission, vision and values.

  • Lead team members using a performance management and development focused approach to assist in goal setting, two-way feedback, and performance development planning.

  • Lead team members to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

  • Trilingual in English/Spanish/Portuguese preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field of study; Master's degree preferred;

    • and 10+ years of global benefits administration and management experience related to designing, implementing, and managing Benefit Programs. Demonstrated understanding of key business trends as well as Federal, State and Local laws related to Benefits programs. Working knowledge of payroll regulations, IRS code, FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations.

  • Workday Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) experience required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.

  • Certified Benefits Professional (CPB) Pref

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP Pref
