The Marriott International (MI) Global Networks team drives to deliver the most advanced, secure, reliable, and scalable network solutions across the hospitality industry. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Networks, the Director of Enterprise Edge Networks owns the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for our SASE based services including secure remote access, Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), and will develop both a centralized Firewall Center of Excellence and modernize our external partner access solutions.
This role requires strong technical depth, strategic leadership, and operational rigor to drive secure network design, improve availability and observability, streamline operations, and enforce governance across a complex global environment. The Director partners closely with architecture, engineering, security, and business stakeholders to deliver resilient, future‑ready enterprise network services.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team of globally located Network Engineers designing and delivering SASE based solutions.
- Establish and optimize a Firewall Center of Excellence to support the Enterprise Networks team
- Own the technology strategy, roadmap, and delivery for all Enterprise Edge Network services.
- Partner closely with Global Networks architects, engineers, and cross‑functional IT teams.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Drive operational excellence through improved monitoring, observability, availability, and stability.
- Champion automation, AI, and modern technologies as standard delivery practices.
- Establish strong technical partnerships with business and IT stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and operationalize scalable, highly available network standards and policies.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, including:
- 6+ years of network infrastructure leadership experience as a people manager or senior technical lead
- 3+ years managing cross‑functional, matrixed, sourced, and/or outsourced teams and suppliers
- 6+ years designing and implementing network ( WAN, LAN, Cloud,) solutions, supporting mission‑critical, customer‑facing applications and services
- 3+ years managing teams supporting SASE based network solutions and services
- Deep technical knowledge of enterprise networking (Cisco and non‑Cisco), with emphasis on software‑defined networking (SDN/SD‑WAN) and secure network design principles (e.g., zero trust, micro‑segmentation, intrusion detection and prevention) and SASE architecture solutions.
- Strong knowledge of common routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), IPv6, VPN technologies, and global distributed network architectures
- Technical knowledge of both intra‑cloud and inter‑cloud networking
- Hands‑on experience designing, configuring, and operating large‑scale, complex enterprise networks
- Experience working with Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Prisma Access, and Global Protect
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, high‑quality technical documentation, including network designs and diagrams
- Ability to work non‑standard hours as required to support critical initiatives or operational needs
- Experience delivering work using Agile methodologies
Preferred:
- Experience designing and engineering connectivity to cloud networking solutions, with exposure to one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Alicloud, GCP)
- Experience with Cisco, HPE, and Mist hardware solutions.
- Strong understanding of network and security compliance standards
- Network operations leadership experience in large‑scale or global environments
- Ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative methods to define success, measure outcomes, and drive continuous improvement
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence across a broad IT and business community
- Experience designing, implementing, and operationally supporting mission‑critical products and services

- Partner with Architecture, Infrastructure, InfoSec, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Continuously improve processes and introduce innovative technologies and best practices.

- Prioritize and manage work across multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
- Analyze data to drive decisions, resolve issues, and improve outcomes.
- Communicate progress, risks, and results clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage third party operational partners focusing on uptime and continuous improvement.
- Think creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new plans or programs. Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
