Job Overview: 

The Director, Corporate Events & Experiences brings global brand experiences to life, delivering on objectives through focused creative and operational execution. 

This role is the centralized global event and experiences leader, serving as the primary point of contact for strategy decisions, integrated team orchestration for experiences, and follow-through measurement. This role will oversee all corporate owned (1st party) and sponsored (3rd party) events, virtual and physical. Defining and upholding the brand is paramount, along with a keen vision for growth and excitement over time. As a systems thinker, this new hire will ensure streamlined, unified strategies across our organization, regardless of location. This leader will be the architect of many important customer journey experiences with Neo4j, and we’re looking for an innovator who is excited to take creative swings and help us grow our brand.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Anchor Experiences on Marketing Goals and Strategies: Have a clear understanding of marketing goals, campaigns, and messaging to design a strategic vision and annual plan for how events and experiences support our objectives, partnering with others for alignment. Includes third-party conferences, webinars and virtual events.
  • Event Vision & Communication: Develop and voice corporate event vision in all wider forums, driving clarity and decision-making for progress. Communicate effectively and quickly about schedules and scope, driving clarity and efficiency for your team and others. When changes arrive, your experience allows quick problem-solving because you have done this before.
  • Integrated Event & Experience Planning: Events are moments along the journey, so integrated planning is imperative for a consistent experience. For Corporate Events, oversee integrated planning from briefing through measurement, ensuring on-track communications and execution.
  • Expand Creativity: Develop ‘what if’ scenarios that bring our brand to life in exciting, new, and intelligent ways, in partnership with brand, creative, and content. Explore untapped experiences, physical and virtual, well-established or pop-up, to target and delight our personas in a polished way. Consider new ideas, things to discontinue, or doing things entirely differently for near or future horizons. Draft clear and comprehensive event briefs documenting your vision for scale, efficiency, and clarity. 
  • Event Definition and Adoption: With your team and others, define & refine all event definitions and standards with agreed-upon objectives, measurements, and materials for execution, globally. Iterate on the event types and details as the company evolves, always driving adoption and clarity. Oversee the development of event kits, guidelines, scorecards, and other materials in some cases. 
  • Uphold Operational Excellence: Guide event team to deliver event execution excellence, including global adoption of shared event tools, integrations, timeliness, and production value.
  • Lead by Example: Encourage ideas, positivity, and adaptation with a small team of three alongside agency partners. Drive quick decision-making, diplomacy, and follow through with integrity. Identify gaps and resource management for ebb and flow.


Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years in integrated event strategy, planning, management, and leadership
  • Excited about the art of the possible, bringing forth a vision for what could be adapted to time, budget, and team 
  • Strong coach and leader, putting ego aside. Willing to adapt, guide, listen to others, and self-identify as a lifelong learner
  • Adept communicator with the ability to build strong relationships and influence colleagues in a collaborative, diplomatic style
  • Experience with contract negotiation, hotels and venues, space planning, event RFPs, and event agency management/contractors
  • Experience in managing large, complex events, both virtual and physical
  • Knowledge of standard workflows, processes, and tools for effective and timely event execution
  • Thrive in ambiguity where decisions may be iterative to keep moving forward in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization. Willingness to pivot and adjust.
  • Exemplary time management, facilitation, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize large numbers of projects in a thoughtful, logical manner
  • Demonstrate the attributes of being approachable (friendly, inclusive), intentional (clear, focused), and confident (assured, driven)

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range.

In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and certain leaves of absence.
