Director, Business Development

Direct Agents | NYC (Flatiron) | $160K–$185K base + uncapped commission | OTE $275K–$325K

Why this role exists

We're an independent, AI-powered growth partner to brands like Marvel, Tennis Channel, NYSE, Morgan Stanley, and DistroKid. We're building something different — and we need a closer who can carry that story to CMOs, CFOs, and Chief Growth Officers and turn it into seven-figure partnerships.
This is a senior, founder-adjacent BD seat. You'll work directly with the partners, own the full cycle, and shape how we go to market.

What you'll own
  • Full deal cycle: sourcing → qualification → pitch → proposal → negotiation → close
  • Six- and seven-figure engagements with C-suite buyers across B2B Tech & SaaS, Media & Entertainment, and Ecommerce
  • Custom growth solutions integrating paid media, Kanopy AI, creative, and emerging platforms (GEO, Reddit, retail media)
  • Pricing, packaging, and proposal architecture in partnership with our specialist operators
  • Direct contribution to our market position — conferences, thought leadership, vertical strategy
Who we're looking for
  • 7+ years closing in digital media, performance marketing, or integrated growth
  • Documented track record of winning six- and seven-figure deals — bring the receipts
  • Comfortable in C-suite rooms speaking revenue, LTV, and market share — not impressions and CTRs
  • Consultative seller who diagnoses, not pitches
  • Self-directed operator who builds pipeline without being handed it
What makes this different
  • Kanopy AI — our proprietary Agentic suite. Real-time optimization, MMM, creative versioning, competitive intelligence. Operational, not theoretical.
  • Proven vertical expertise — Deep performance baselines across B2B Tech & SaaS, Media & Entertainment, Ecommerce, and Home Services
  • A team driven to grow — Operators wired for ambition. An agency culture built around it.
  • Direct access to the founders. No agency politics, no five-layer approval chain.
  • 4-day workweek — Fridays off, every week
  • Award-winning culture — 8x Crain's Best Places to Work, 12-month average time to promotion
  • Certified Minority-Owned Business — 48% BIPOC, 60% female across the agency
Compensation
  • $160K–$185K base depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission with accelerators above quota
  • On-target earnings: $275K–$325K Year 1
  • Equity participation for senior contributors
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, mental health (One Medical, Talkspace, KindBody)
  • 15–24 days PTO + birthday + 7 sick/safe days + up to 12 weeks paid parental leave
  • New MacBook Pro, full AI tool stack (Claude, ChatGPT, internal tools)
  • Penthouse office on 5th Ave, dog-friendly, commuter benefits, Citibike
Location

On site in person at our NYC headquarters. Must reside or relocate within commuting distance.

Apply with your resume and a one-paragraph note on the largest deal you've closed and what made it land.

Skills Required
