Director, Business Development – Alternative Fund Solutions
Apex provides comprehensive fund servicing solutions for open-end and closed-end funds across Alternative Managers, including Hedge Funds and Private Capital Strategies. Apex offers its services either a la carte or bundled including preferred relationships with technology, audit, custody and distribution partners. The Role & Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and drive new client acquisitions and increase revenue for the firm’s fund administration and integrated businesses
· Build, manage and progress a pipeline of new business opportunities, including prospects launching funds and take-away business from competitors
· Provide expert advise and solutions to clients. Ensure client satisfaction and retention.
· Grow the fund brand and reputation across the region
· Build on an existing network of investment managers, fund sponsors, trustees, counsels, auditors and other key influencers
· Lead sales process from end to end, including identifying prospects, coordinating meetings and presentations, preparing proposals and managing deal teams.
· Collaborate with colleagues across regions and areas of specialization to achieve business objectives
· Quickly Build robust knowledge of Apex’s offering and value proposition
· Champion cross-sell initiatives across services lines and geographies to drive new sales into our existing client base
· Work closely with and build strong collaborative relationship with marketing, client on-boarding, operations, legal and other functions
· Advise on strategic initiatives such as product development
· Analyse market trends and identify new opportunities
· Follow internal sales and non-sales process and compliance requirements, including management reporting, Salesforce maintenance, attendance at internal meetings, assistance with onboarding as required, to ensure agreed project deliverables are met.
Skills Required:
· 10+ years relevant experience in financial services, banking, fund administration in the PE, hedge fund space and or prime brokerage relevant experience
· A strong existing network of fund managers, sponsors, trustees, law firms and other influencers preferred, including ability to interact with C-Level executives
· Extensive knowledge of financial markets and asset management
· Proven experience with engaging complex organizations
· High energy, strong self-confidence, strategic mind to lead and/or contribute to discussion with various stakeholders at senior levels
· Able to sell complex solutions to clients, and apply relationship management and analytical skills to handle client requests/objections in an appropriate manner
· Demonstrated sales skills and ability to consistently deliver on sales targets
· Strong verbal and written skills are essential.
· Possess a strong work ethic, and uncompromising integrity
Salary ranges from USD $ 175,000 - $ 200,000 additional market competitive variable uncapped compensation based on performance. Compensation within this range is dependent on individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
