The Role

How will your role help us transform hope into reality?

The Director, Advanced Analytics Lead will report to the US Head of Strategic Insights & Analytics (SI&A) and be a core member of team.  This person will be responsible for leading quantitative analyses of various datasets (including claims data, diagnostic lab data, internal promotional data).  They will lead efforts around the application of data analyses for executable Sales and Marketing tactics including HCP targeting, patient segmentation, referral networks, marketing mix modelling, as well as ROI measurement of tactics. The individual will leverage different analytical approaches to generate actionable insights to drive the continued commercialization success of AYVAKIT (avapritinib). They will work closely with multiple cross-functional partners including Commercial Operations, Marketing, Field Personnel, Market Access, and Commercial Leadership.

 

What will you do?

  • Drive business performance through actionable insights derived from healthcare claims data by uncovering trends, opportunities, and barriers in rare disease (systemic mastocytosis) diagnosis, treatment, and patient journeys
  • Design, execute, and interpret analyses of large healthcare datasets (including claims data, diagnostic lab data, multi-client supplier data, internal promotional data)
  • Collaborate on strategic execution of actionable insights as well as track and measure outcome
  • Identify novel AI use cases and lead successful execution and measurement of business impact
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for commercial and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth
  • Provide strategic decision support by partnering with commercial operations, marketing, market access, and field teams to inform brand strategy, patient segmentation, HCP targeting, and resource allocation/optimization (by measuring impact of tactics)
  • Support real-world evidence initiatives, including the design and execution of studies leveraging claims data to demonstrate disease burden, unmet need, and impact of AYVAKIT
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations and IT teams to ensure robust data infrastructure, quality, and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Integrate claims data insights with other data sources (e.g., specialty pharmacy, digital engagement, EMR) to enable holistic, omnichannel commercial strategies
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging analytics methodologies (AI applications), and regulatory requirements
  • Combine technical expertise in advanced analytics with a deep understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry, especially in rare diseases
  • Play a critical role in shaping commercial strategy, optimizing patient prediction, and supporting evidence generation for AYVAKIT
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

 

What minimum qualifications do we require?

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 8-10+ years of experience, including 4 years of direct involvement in advanced analytics using various datasets; 6-8+ years of experience if candidate has a PhD or MD degree

What additional qualifications will make you a stronger candidate?

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PhD) or other equivalent experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in rare disease analytics, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges in small patient populations, diagnostic journeys, and treatment landscapes
  • Demonstrated track record showing high business impact by leveraging AI/machine learning
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) a plus
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams including Commercial Operations, Marketing, and Sales to deliver strategic tactics driving business performance
  • Proven ability to influence brand strategy and tactical execution through data-driven insights and recommended actions
  • Strong communication skills with executive presence

Compensation and Benefits 

The base salary hiring range for this position will be $210,000 -- $275,000.* Actual base salary offered for this position will be based on a number of job-related factors, including, but not limited to: experience (including skills and competencies), education, training and internal equity.

This position is also eligible for the following:
