Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Director 1, Business Development – (MEP) TS/SCI to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is an integral part of the leadership team and is based at our Redondo Beach, CA campus.

As the Business Development Director, you will lead end-to-end BD efforts for Mission Enabling Products (MEP), including investment strategy, customer and industry partnerships, technical shaping, and capture support aligned to Business Unit and Division priorities. You will be expected to quickly understand what is required to win, develop compelling value propositions and business cases, and lead executive-level briefings in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment. The Director of MEP Business Development will lead pipeline growth and secure new business awards for the MEP business unit with direct to accountability to the business unit VP for awards aligned to the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range strategic plan (LRSP). This position reports to the Division Senior Director, Intelligence Space Division and will work closely with a campaign team of capture professionals, BD professionals, and industry partners to deliver long-range strategic plan commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of new business strategy.
  • Identify, shape, and qualify new opportunities; assess threats and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct mission area and business analysis in support of growth objectives.
  • Support new business capture, including BAP and Position-to-Win (PTW) execution.
  • Partner with Space Systems divisions, other NG sectors, and industry teammates to create and mature new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior and mid-level government decision makers, with emphasis on national security space acquirers and users.
  • Collaborate with NGC Government Relations on customer engagement strategy and execution.
  • Provide customer insight, planning, analysis, and strategy for pursuits, including integrated bid/no-bid packages and long-range strategic plan inputs.
  • Analyze future customer requirements and trends to inform pipeline and investment planning.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 12+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense.
  • 10+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance at time of application.
  • Strong understanding of DoD and national security space missions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with national security space customers (DoD, IC, commercial and other space customers).
  • Experience developing and executing BD plans to influence all aspects of new business capture.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman Space Sector strategies, customers, and priorities.
  • Experience with NG tools (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, Tableau, Workday).
  • Experience driving organizational effectiveness and operational best practices.
  • Self-directed leader with exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience with subcontract management and working with senior leadership and cross-functional peers.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for strategy development and execution.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes.

Primary Level Salary Range: $203,900.00 - $305,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
