About the opportunity
The University of Sydney Business School is seeking an experienced pedagogy-informed Digital Learning Designer to join their team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Learning Innovation Office and in consultation with academics to deliver student-centred learning experiences which are engaging and pedagogically sound for both blended and online learning deliveries. You will also design and facilitate capability-building resources and workshops to support the professional development of teaching academics.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to the delivery of Business School strategic projects, through developing and implementing pedagogically sound, interactive learning experiences for both blended and online delivery
- work collaboratively with colleagues in the Learning Innovation Office and key stakeholders from within the Business School and across the University to design and create interactive digital learning experiences in a technology-enabled environment
- support Business School academics’ blended, online and hybrid delivery using the University’s Learning Management System (Canvas) and learning technology ecosystem
- design and facilitate training sessions provided to academics to build capabilities in educational design and technology applications.
- undertake ongoing exploration of new technologies, innovations and developments to enhance interactive digital learning experiences and pedagogically informed student-centred approaches.
About you
- tertiary qualifications in an area relevant to Learning Design (Undergraduate minimum)
- professional experience working as a Learning Designer in a tertiary education environment or equivalent (higher education, secondary education, vocational or equivalent)
- experience in adapting, designing and/or co-developing content for technology- enabled learning environments
- demonstrated experience in using interactive tools to create, build and enhance educational delivery
- understanding of principles of user interface and user experience design, including an ability to design and communicate effectively through visual/interactive media to diverse audiences
- comprehensive understanding of innovative and pedagogically sound approaches to education that enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and teaching quality in higher education
- demonstrated expertise in designing and facilitating engaging, outcomes-focused training workshops that build teaching staff capability in delivering high-quality student learning experiences
- strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively to key stakeholders and negotiate positive outcomes in complex or sensitive contexts while maintaining collegial working relationships.
