Effective and engaging communication through social media is a strategic priority in reaching citizens, stakeholders, and institutional audiences across the European Union and beyond. Social media channels - both institutional and personal (e.g. Director-General and senior management) - play a key role in promoting policy initiatives, enhancing transparency, and building trust in the European project. In this context, the expert is needed to help create and implement impactful, high-quality content and campaigns that reflect the Directorate-General’s vision, values, and objectives. The expert will contribute to maintaining a consistent voice and professional presence across platforms, while also supporting day-to-day social media operations.
The objective of this assignment is to support the development, planning, and execution of social media content and campaigns across all social media channels. The expert will be responsible for producing compelling, engaging content tailored to diverse audiences; analysing campaign performance; and managing online engagement. In addition, the expert will provide creative input and support in presenting communication concepts to internal stakeholders and will be available for other communication-related tasks as required by the hierarchy. The role requires a high level of autonomy, creativity, and adaptability in a fast-paced institutional environment.
Required tasks are the following:
- Creation of social media posts and campaigns for all social media channels (including Director-General and other high level management);
- Plan and develop social media campaigns, including crafting compelling content;
- Engage with followers on different social media channels and analyse running campaigns;
- Communicate and present ideas to non-experts in the field;
- Provide other dedicated tasks that fall under the expertise of the expert upon request of the hierarchy.
Knowledge of content strategy.
