Come join our team as a Dietary Supervisor in our state of the art, skilled nursing facility. The dietary supervisor assists the Chef in performing supervisory functions to aid in an efficient and effective dietary department. The dietary supervisor aids in planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and conducting activities of the dietary department to provide nutritious and palatable foods to the residents. Must strive to meet professional standards of food preparation and safety.

Pay -$16.00 - $25.00 an hour!!!!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports directly to the Chef and is flexible with work duties to assist in the management of food service operations.
  • Assists in the orientation, training and supervision of the dietary staff.
  • Assists with the inservice program to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Responsible to make sure all staff are able to appropriately use and clean dietary equipment.
  • Conducts meal rounds to aid in the supervision of meal delivery to the residents. The dietary supervisor is available to the residents and their families in regards to food preferences and suggestions. Acquaints self with the “likes and dislikes” of the residents.
  • Will aid in the supervision of all work areas including preparation, production, stock rooms and the dish room area. Standards of safety and sanitation will be maintained.
  • Provide input in menu planning and development.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement by completing PI audits for Chef as assigned.
  • Assist with inventories and stock rotation.
  • Will assist with performance evaluations for dietary employees. He/She may also assist with disciplinary actions.
  • Will have effective communication with the dietitian/diet tech and other facility disciplines to ensure team work and quality patient care.
  • Will have at least a high school diploma. Management and culinary experience is beneficial.
  • Will be able to fill in for any position should there be a call off.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desire to grow in the organization
  • Minimally needs to be a High School Graduate
  • Works well with others and is able to maintain effective communication with the chef and dietitian/diet tech and other facility disciplines to ensure teamwork and quality patient care.
