About this opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps CI/CD Support Engineer (SME) to join our Ericsson Managed Services team. This is a critical role that directly supports strategic customer engagements and plays a key part in ensuring operational excellence across complex DevOps environments.
What you will do:
- Provide L2 operational support for CI/CD pipelines built using Jenkins and GitOps-based workflows, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform incident analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution for build, deployment, and release pipeline failures within defined SLAs.
- Support release management activities, including versioning, tagging, artifact promotion, and coordination with development and QA teams.
- Maintain and troubleshoot YAML-based pipeline configurations and deployment manifests.
- Manage and support artifact repositories using JFrog Artifactory, including repository health, access control, and artifact lifecycle.
- Support Maven-based build processes, dependency resolution, and build optimizations.
- Assist in containerization efforts using Docker, including image builds, tagging, scanning, and troubleshooting runtime issues.
- Provide operational support for applications deployed on OpenShift, including pod health checks, logs analysis, rollout/rollback support, and basic cluster troubleshooting.
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines and container platforms, proactively identifying issues and performing preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with L3 DevOps and platform teams to escalate complex issues and support root cause analysis (RCA).
- Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation for recurring issues and standard support procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support planned/unplanned releases.
The skills you bring:
Must Haves
- Hands-on experience supporting Jenkins pipelines and/or GitOps-based CI/CD frameworks.
- Strong working knowledge of YAML scripting for pipeline and deployment configurations.
- Experience with JFrog Artifactory for artifact storage, promotion, and access management.
- Solid understanding of Maven build lifecycle, POM configurations, and dependency management.
- Proven experience in CI/CD troubleshooting, including build failures, deployment issues, and pipeline performance bottlenecks.
- Working knowledge of Docker, including image creation, troubleshooting container failures, and basic security practices.
- Experience supporting workloads on OpenShift, including pod troubleshooting, logs analysis, deployments, and rollbacks.
- Familiarity with release management processes, including CI/CD gating, approvals, and environment promotions.
- Understanding of Linux fundamentals, shell commands, and log analysis.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 Operations support environment
Good to Have
- Exposure to Kubernetes concepts beyond OpenShift (services, ingress, config maps, secrets).
- Basic knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk or similar).
- Experience with security scanning tools for container images or pipelines.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security controls.
- Experience working in ITIL-based support environments (incident, problem, and change management).
- Ability to automate repetitive support tasks using scripts or pipeline enhancements.
