Devops Engineer

Job Title - DevOps Engineer

Location: Chennai

Trimble is looking for a DevOps Engineer for their Core Product Development team in Chennai.

You will be part of the global IT Operations Team for Trimble Transports & Logistics Europe team from Chennai. We are looking for an open-minded individual who likes collaborating with others. We are working with real-time data and this makes us a fast-moving organization that evolves quickly. To aid us with this evolution we are adopting new and upcoming technologies that help us with this transformation over multiple products. The adoption of a DevOps culture plays an important role here, and we look for a candidate who is a strong believer of this culture. The team member reports to the Technical Manager.

Measures of Success:

• In this role you are responsible for developer platform supporting the product teams and services

• You provide intermediate/advanced consultation for responsible services

• You plan, document, implement, and debug hosting solutions and related software systems.

• You troubleshoot intermediate to advanced problems reported by internal customers, systems, or team members; escalating to upper level associates as appropriate

• You will work in a distributed team across the globe (Europe and India)

• You are a member of an agile development team, we are working with scrum methodology. 

• You are a member of an agile development team, participating in the planning and execution of work items. 

• You communicate about the work you are doing and the obstacles you encounter. 

• You appreciate assistance from others when needed, but are also willing to provide it back to them.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 3-5 years of total experience in DevOps

• Good Experience and knowledge of Kubernetes(Mandatory), Ansible, Terraform, and AWS (Mandatory).

• Good Experience and knowledge of Linux(Mandatory)

• Experience in working with agile tools like Jira

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools.

• Experience with  github actions, Helm charts, Java applications servers, SpringBoot, MySQL and python  is a plus.

• Knowledge on DevOps Security practices is a plus

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Environment:

• We have multiple platforms/services using different technology stacks.

• This ranges from web-applications, SOAP interfaces, processing systems written in Java EE to Angular, React and NodeJS based web-applications.

• The ITOPS chapter acts as a key player in the DevOps culture, supporting the different development teams throughout the (Secure) Development Life-Cycle.

• In current terms; the team acts as a Platform Team providing a great Developer Experience.

• You will be a member of this horizontal team and partake in their sprints and daily standups.

• The team is a very skilled bunch of people to work with, with lots of knowledge to share.
