About your role:

We are looking for aDevOps Engineerto join our team & take our infrastructure to the next level. 

In this role, you will build tools that streamline our deployment pipelines for continuous software delivery and the ability to set up, maintain, and scale our different services as needed.   

You will be our micro-services, automation, server-side scripting, and chef/ansible champion. You’ll build tools to monitor our infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions. You’ll be tasked with the continuous improvement of the reliability & efficiency of our infrastructure. 

Your team:

Our DevOps team is the cornerstone of Givelify. We work with the rest of the technology team to improve reliability, scalability, and security under extreme demand. We work in tight-knit, cross-functional teams in partnership with other Givelify’s Engineering and Technology team members. Givelifys Engineering and Technology team forms the company’s backbone, facilitating the seamless integration of services powering the engine of doing more good in the world.  

The DevOps Engineer will get to:

  • Create scalable, fault-tolerant architectures and web-based tools to support the development team, enhancing productivity and project outcomes. 
  • Design and implement Terraform & Ansible playbooks for managing infrastructures in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistent and efficient environment setups. 
  • Integrate and implement DevOps best practices and methodologies throughout the engineering process, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in designing and implementing highly available and scalable AWS (EKS) Kubernetes clusters tailored to meet the organization’s needs across production, development, and testing environments. 

To be successful in this role: 

  • Work in small cross-functional teams of experienced and extraordinarily talented engineers from different disciplines in a CI/CD environment  
  • Participate in engineering efforts to support new features that directly impact the relationship between philanthropic causes and those who support them 
  • Build out real-time monitoring, analytics, and reporting dashboards 
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology and DevOps practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the role

Your experience: 

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (STEM) 
  • Hands-on with building and supporting Microservice architecture 
  • Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems. 
  • Excellent in object-oriented design and programming 
  • Experience in Agile development practice and continuous integration/continuous delivery environment (CI/CD). 
  • Experience with public cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, etc.) is also a plus  
  • Designing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Ansible Git, and more  
  • Background in Python, Shell scripting, Nginx, Apache, Linux, AWS Services, AWS CLI, and Terraform  
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux environments
