Position Overview
Our Data Products Team is hiring a Manager, Data Science to provide technical leadership and guide a team building impactful data-driven solutions. You will play a key role in shaping our data science strategy, driving innovation, and delivering measurable business value through advanced analytics and machine learning.
What You'll Do

• Lead a team of data scientists to deliver actionable insights, predictive models, and data-driven solutions that support our business and product goals
• Provide professional and technical leadership with impactful guidance, coaching, and feedback
• Empower the team with clear goals and a data-informed approach to ensure excellence
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data science methodologies, processes, and tools
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and other Technology Leaders to define, plan, and prioritize data science initiatives
• Monitor active projects to manage risk s , escalate blockers, and ensure consistent delivery with high quality
• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning and a knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on roadmap milestones

We're Excited to Learn More About You
We're looking for someone who:

• Has the ability to work from an Applied Systems office, 100% remotely; Chicago-area preferred.

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• 8+ years of experience delivering high-quality, scalable data science solutions
• 8+ years of experience in requirements gathering and technical design as well as testing and production deployment of data-driven projects
• 3+ years managing data science or analytics teams, providing feedback to ensure velocity and quality
• Proven experience leading applied AI initiatives, including developing production-grade solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI
• Experience working with modern cloud-based data and AI platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure), including data engineering, ML model development, and MLOps in cloud environments
• Ability to provide coaching and guidance on data science best practices, machine learning, data engineering, and cloud-based analytics
• Technical leadership of advanced analytics or machine learning initiatives
• Knowledge of the data science lifecycle, including data preparation, modeling, validation, and deployment
• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing technical teams
• Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and tools like Jira and Confluence
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science , Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Candidate will need to reside in North America, working arrangement will be remote.

Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from $115,000 - $175,000. To determine a new team member's starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone's depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible to participate in additional compensation plans such as bonus and commission.
