At doTERRA we encourage all employees to seek out opportunities that will expand their skill set. We strive to help achieve personal career goals by providing opportunities of growth and movement throughout the company.

At doTERRA, we encourage employees to grow their skill sets and pursue meaningful career development. We support internal mobility and provide opportunities to expand both technical depth and operational ownership.

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate the foundational infrastructure and platforms that power our applications globally. This role is focused on operational excellence, infrastructure reliability, and platform scalability, enabling development teams to deliver software efficiently without owning production operations themselves.

This is not a software development role—we are looking for engineers with strong systems, infrastructure, and operational experience who are comfortable owning production environments end-to-end.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining internal platforms, improving system resilience, and ensuring our environments are scalable, secure, and highly available.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure and platform services (compute, networking, storage, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Own production environments, including availability, performance, and operational health
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code and configuration management
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
  • Drive capacity planning, scaling strategies, and cost optimization
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment platforms
  • Partner with development teams by providing platform capabilities and operational guidance (not owning application code)
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, runbooks, and best practices
  • Improve system resilience through automation, fault tolerance, and recovery strategies

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong background in systems administration and infrastructure operations (Linux/Unix)
  • Hands-on experience operating systems in production environments at scale
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Deep experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, SaltStack, etc.)
  • Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Elastic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, etc.)
  • Experience managing and operating container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation — not application development
  • Proven experience in incident response, on-call rotations, and production support
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure services
  • Background in e-commerce or high-traffic production environments
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region deployments
  • Familiarity with cost optimization and cloud financial operations (FinOps)
  • Exposure to chaos testing and resilience engineering
