The Role

Job Description

Join our team as the Design Manager for LEGO Technic!
You’ll lead the creation of world-class graphics that capture the excitement of motorsport, racing, and automotive culture. Collaborating with Graphic Leads from various franchises, you’ll work within a dynamic design team to ensure brand integrity and innovative visual storytelling.

The ideal candidate is not only a highly skilled designer but also deeply enthusiastic about vehicle design, its culture, aesthetics, and technical details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and drive the implementation of the creative vision given by the Project Core Lead Team 

  • Develop graphic design work upon Creative Briefs and deliver results in the form of LEGO products that meet the expectations in terms of age complexity, audience appeal, play experiences and storytelling using our design principles and guidelines

  • Explore, visualize and sketch ideas for graphics  that can realistically become a product if approved

  • Facilitate graphic ideation within the franchise

  • Create solutions to complex challenges in the graphic development process

  • Enhance collaboration with colleagues across LEGO Design and work with different design disciplines and various internal and external stakeholders in an effective and efficient way 

  • Design according to priorities of the respective franchise. Demonstrate ability to communicate and present in detail when needed within franchise or graphic design team

  • Master the knowledge of the different tasks, responsibilities and processes that are part of the graphic development in LEGO Design

  • Hone and Master specialist skills needed for Graphic Design  

  • Strong ability to develop graphics compliant to design guidelines, design process and design briefs​

  • Strong ability to maintain consistent high-quality design deliveries in an effective and efficient manner

  • Strong ability to develop graphics for manufacture 

  • Strong ability to understand and follow the graphic design process and use that knowledge autonomously  ​

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.

  • 5+ years of design experience, including leadership or lead designer roles.

  • Proven ability to lead design reviews, manage timelines, and maintain guidelines.

  • Skilled collaborator with product, marketing, and partner teams.

  • Knowledge of vehicle design, racing and automotive culture and design trends.

  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven experience in vehicle graphics or related fields (portfolio required, including vector graphics).

  • Strong proficiency in using Adobe illustrator and other graphic design tools 

  • Demonstrated direct or indirect leadership or team management experience.

  • Deep passion for vehicle design, with knowledge of liveries, and visual identity trends.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills.

  • Ability to balance creativity with sponsor/brand requirements under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to drive graphic design improvement initiatives.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
