Ibotta is seeking a Decision Scientist, Core Data & Analytics to join our high-performing team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. Our relatively new and fast-growing Core Data & Analytics team provides high-quality, on-time data products and services across all business areas within Ibotta. We do this through our thought leadership, subject matter expertise, evangelism, and governance of business-critical data initiatives.
As a Decision Scientist, you’ll have the challenging and rewarding opportunity to build on the foundation of already established data and analytics products. You’ll be able to drive initiatives forward, being responsible for project completion. In addition, you'll also be able to grow organizational and leadership skills by contributing to team and company best practices while learning from technology leaders who want you to be successful.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:
Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights to inform business decisions and understand consumer behavior to support the decision-making process
Formulate solutions addressing major business challenges and innovation opportunities
Develop a deep understanding of Ibotta's data ecosystem and analytics tools
Bring proactive insights into our key business metrics through curiosity, dedication, and ongoing investment in understanding our products
Contribute to creating best practices and efficient processes for the team
Initiate and drive collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, responsibilities, and expectations
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and other analytics deliverables
Work closely with our Instructional Design team to create curriculum, documentation, and training materials for the products you own

What we are looking for:
3+ years of experience in an analytical function
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, or a related field required
Demonstrated analytical ability, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex analytical solutions into actionable insights
Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to collaborate across functional areas
Curiosity and the commitment to continually ask questions of our data and business
Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured data problems
Excels in a fast-paced environment with the capability to prioritize effectively
Expert using modern data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R, etc.)
Experience in building visualizations using business intelligence tools such as Looker and Mode
