DB DevOps Engineer
What you can expect
As a DBA for the ZCXP team at Zoom, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying and supporting various kinds of database infrastructure. Including database automation/tools. You will develop reliable infrastructure solutions through software engineering and operational expertise. Implementing monitoring frameworks and automation tools to ensure system reliability and efficiency across distributed production environments.
About the Team
The team is responsible for the hybrid cloud infrastructure and applications like ZoomPhone, Zoom Contact Center and other Zoom communications products. By employing robust operational and monitoring strategies, they guarantee the seamless delivery of Zoom service, allowing millions of users worldwide to connect effortlessly.
What we’re looking for
Support critical production applications with 7+ years of DBA experience with demonstrated impact in delivering business value through permanent improvements.
Demonstrate expertise in various databases like AWS Aurora DB, DynamoDB/MongoDB, Redis and ElasticSearch with deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, scalability patterns and fault tolerance.
Manage DB replication, backup and monitoring related tools and and observability platforms used in production environments.
Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
Understand Linux or other Unix-like operating systems with knowledge of performance optimization and resource utilization.
Script and automate routine database related tasks using Shell, SQL, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins etc. with focus on operational efficiency.
Communicate excellently across teams and provide technical guidance on infrastructure decisions.
Hold BS/BE degree in a related field.
